As Long As We Have Each Other

Updated on May 22, 2013

We may not have a lot

And we may be living quite simple

But as long as in this world we are two

Then we are more than rich

We may not be walking

In shoes that cost big bucks

During the summer we’re better off

Roaming about in bare feet

There may be money worries

Today and tomorrow

Wondering how we are going

To get along and not borrow

But the days are quiet and still

We can be content

In the love we share

And that can keep the worries at bay

Enjoying days of sunshine

And taking quiet walks

Spending idyllic nights

And sharing kisses doesn’t cost a cent

So riches may be fine for some

But the best things in life are always free

From the wonder of nature all around

And the blue sky and clouds above

Besides we don’t have a car that needs gas

And we don’t have to spend for transportation

We have our two feet

Which take us everywhere side by side

So let’s be glad for the love we have

And share what we can

I’m sure that someday

Our dreams will lead us to a better day

A beautiful illustration of "the best things in life" not costing money, being within our grasp.

Wonderful poem. True the best things in life are free - our feet do us just fine as our hearts.

Can you imagine being married to a man,, and you know he cannot exactly answer and that if he did you would not understand. Lights and heat are on, mortgage is paid but when a friend asks, what does he do, it is hard for you to answer.

And in beauty of moonlit evenings you press him for understanding, he spends, 1 hour explaining and it makes no sense.

But you still love him and your baby and the smiles and all that is good and it all rests on trust. Because you love him, and you know he loves you and your son. Amen.

The best things in life are truly free and without expensive possessions that need much attention you are free to enjoy them and especially each other. That is a real treasure and your reminder in your lovely poem is, too.

      Hi gypsy-rose.

Excellent. Enjoying life fully satisfied with what we have and are, is one of greater riches. A grateful heart creates happiness which is coming from the source of everlasting love , and that never ends.

      Continue to be blessed.

      Voted up and beautiful.
