As time imparts- my broken heart

As time imparts- my broken heart
By Tony DeLorger © 2011
As time imparts,
imbues our hearts,
with love retained,
impressions made.
While age dictates
and memories ache,
of past mistakes,
and lost love takes.
The fuel within,
of fallen sin,
now weakened sigh,
and clarity’s lie.
I cling to life,
not question why,
the loves I’ve lost,
shall not rely.
On wasted blame,
my soul defamed,
I am the same,
my angst now lain.
Oh twisted views,
of past refuse,
to release my soul
from actions old.
In memory stand,
with aged hands,
I grasp for truth,
For wisdom gained,
is still my pain,
right from the start,
my broken heart.
