At Last, Tonight

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Tonight we walk the path of bliss,

lost in the gentle folds of surrender,

the safety of each other’s arms,

the longing finally to be fulfilled.

The passion swell ever-present,

given flight to find home

in the heights of expression,

is upon us; we wait no more.

Desires tethered can now be freed,

touch, the dream of reality,

the tender souls caress,

awaits us in full bloom,

to tremble within its hold.

How I have longed for your embrace,

your eyes filled with hope,

your soft flesh next to mine,

lips searching, without words.

Moments lost in time when we are parted,

are held to share, to erase time,

each moment reclaimed,

and we as one, grow in the light of love.

Now, life begins again,

held breath expelled,

our soul’s sigh of relief.

You are home.
