When It Rains
Rain comes down in Atlanta
Atlantans like people everywhere
Some are fine; others have no cheer.
The gong shouts out
Nature all over sprouts
But the sighs are dug deep
Why all this rain about?
Moods are ripe; moods undoubtedly say
Rain, rain, go away,
Come another day.
Why here? Why now?
The band's ready to blast
The die are cast
Today's the day to finish that job - at last.
Atlantans, why sweat?
Is yester year forgotton yet?
The ground was parched, lakes almost dry
Send rain, send rain
We cried and cried.
Hearts were gripped by strokes of fear.
Drought, drought, why here? Why now?
Go away! Come back never year.
This was our constant prayer.
And the rains came.
For many bringing pain.
Despite the gloom - disappointed many
For others it's just another day - right Johnny?
Watch the highways - note the speeds
Vehicle race on, gallop on
Rain no difference makes
But the toll is sore -
Accidents when dry, some
On raining days, many more.
One wonders who these crazies be -
Come rain or shine one should flee
For on speed should no limits be.
Yes, rains are here!
Let's dance a jig and throw a cheer.
Outdoor activities limited, but do not stop the fun.
Life goes on though rain or shine
Throw out the slime - go wine and dine.
Why be a troll?
It's nature - we have no control.
