Autumn Days: A Poem

Updated on November 5, 2011

Autumn Day

Autumn’s wrath comes

The evening night draws in

Darkness embraces

Daylight fades

Leaves of golden colours

Fiery yellows, burnt orange, roasted red

Meandering slowly from their sleepy nest

Withering to the ground below

Rustling in the autumn breeze

The sound rustling leaves

Crunch under foot

A natural landscape glorified in colour

Nature shelters

Beneath the frozen earth

Grieving for a summer

Succumbed at the first fallen leaf

Summer has withered

Autumn emerges

Thanks for stopping by and for your comment :) It is definitely a time of year that is beautiful to write about. It captures the imagination.

The cycle of nature, truly a miracle. Beautiful pictures. Love your choice of words.
