Autumn Days: A Poem
Autumn Day
Autumn’s wrath comes
The evening night draws in
Darkness embraces
Daylight fades
Leaves of golden colours
Fiery yellows, burnt orange, roasted red
Meandering slowly from their sleepy nest
Withering to the ground below
Rustling in the autumn breeze
The sound rustling leaves
Crunch under foot
A natural landscape glorified in colour
Nature shelters
Beneath the frozen earth
Grieving for a summer
Succumbed at the first fallen leaf
Summer has withered
Autumn emerges
