Finding your own Silver Lining!
What are my Hubs About?
The aim of my hubs is to write about subjects I know. They say that writers always write best about the things they know, so certainly this would be a good starting point.
Hubs or Blogs
I have been blogging for a while now as I have my own blog but to be honest I don't think I'm going to bother with that much anymore. I think that Hub Pages is absolutely fantastic, not only does it encourage you to write because you can see how you are doing but you can also follow others which share the same interests as you. I feel that is is extremely unique in content and to be honest I have lost interest in promoting my writing via other avenues because there is everything you need on here. If I want to let my friends know about my hubs then I can send a link from here to face book and twitter which is fantastic. As I haven't been on here for very long, I am still finding my way around but already I have made connections with wonderful writers. Writing can be an isolating business with what feels at times like no sure sense of direction. I think this site has totally changed this for me!
If we believe we are average, that's what we are!
How many of us think we are average - thinking you are average makes you give up very easily. Although I think it is not entirely right to blow your own trumpet, nevertheless sometimes it just as to be blown. Speak positively about who you are and what you do as you are well worth it. Investing time in yourself is very important. I was always told I was an average so I grew up thinking I was one. Of course, this is just some one's opinion. When I went to senior school my father was asked where to put me and he said "she's kind of average if you put her in the advanced class she will struggle!" Personally I feel that it is sometimes better to struggle than to sink. You need others to life you, not to bring you down.
See yourself as better than average and you will be. Your thoughts create your life not the other way round - law of attraction. If it has become a "core belief" from early programming that we are never going to really do that well, or we are just a boring average then you will just attract experiences that reinforce that mindset. So to prove this theory I recently saw a job advertised on the Internet for an admin clerk, it stated the salary which wasn't very good. I was not sure which agency the job was registered with but I knew of the job and it wasn't offering a very good salary. Yesterday I thought, I bet someone will telephone me and offer me a chance at that low paid job. I should not have thought this because later in the afternoon that is exactly what happened.
Now some people would have said well you need the money go for the low paid job. If I had it would have compounded my "average belief" and I have been working very hard to move out of average into awesome. The girl on the telephone said to me she had seen my CV online and wanted to know if I was interested. I got a mental flashback to the job as she was describing it and she also stated the exact salary so I knew that it was definitely the one. I said "don't you think the salary is a little low I was aiming for more than that!! She said I entirely agree with what you are saying but the organisation, (which wasn't mentioned by name) did not get a candidate of the right caliber so they have knocked down the salary by fifteen hundred pounds.
The question which is in my mind is you saw my CV and think I am not the right caliber so you are phoning me up to offer me a knocked down job!
I could be an average for the rest of my life or I could choose to be awesome!
Who says the Law of Attraction doesn't work? What we have to realise is that it doesn't always work in our benefit if we are giving out the wrong message. Changing your mindset takes more than just watching the Secret, it has to become a way of life!
Being in the Now and Holding Your Focus
Why are we writing at this moment (here and now)?
What is our aim for the future?
What do we want to say or share with others?
Why are we networking?
Is it because we want to be recognised as a famous individual?
Or is it through our passion to share with others.
Writing from a Personal Perspective
To be honest I am a rather too personal writer who continually draws on her emotions so after writing a hub I can completely collapse in a heap but I totally enjoy drawing on my life experiences and sharing them with others, I can only see this as a positive thing. I also feel that you do not have to have NVQs or a Degree to be emotionally intelligent. When I look back at my life and I think of all the things I have done and the many experiences I have had, some of them feel absolutely perfect for writing about. Sharing with others is a way not only of making new friends but certainly gives people insight which can help in their own lives.
Health and healing - anything that comes into this bracket i.e. diet, exercise, reiki healing hubs relating to healing the soul. These can be hubs which explore things such as White Lies, Commitment, Love which main aim is to help people emotionally as well as provide topics for discussion.
This could include Aura Readings, thoughts, beliefs and sections from my unpublished book which is going to be re-written into articles for Hub Pages.
I adore animals, I have a border collie called Ross and three cats, Tiger, Monica and Sunny. I also have chickens (hub about them) I love to write about animals.
Nature and Holidays
I love to write about nature and places where I have been.
Because of my work as a life guidance counsellor I often talk to people about relationship issues. Some of my hubs will be about relationships.
Salsa Dancing, Fun and Friendships
I'm an avid dancer. I first learnt to dance at primary school where we did hours of country dancing. When I did maypole which was my favourite, I use to get the ribbons tanged up, so I was designated to sitting in the middle to hold the maypole still. Never mind eh, I must have looked pretty in my little gingham navy and white checked dress and I looked forward to the orange juice coming around especially on a hot day. I later gained medals, up to gold in ballroom and danced in competitions at Hammersmith Palais. I mainly dance salsa now for fun and to keep fit. Dancing, helps keep your feet on the ground and is a great way of keeping your legs toned.
We are all linking and weaving a beautiful web of life. Linking reminds me of those coloured maypole ribbons where they cross over and yet remain so individual. I am hoping to make new friends here who share my interests. I certainly enjoy reading their awesome hubs!
