Awaited and Lost in one Stutter

Updated on July 11, 2012

While waiting, make sure you are ready.

"Star bright, starlight, first star I see tonight...."

For dozens of years he had waited,

for the girl of his dreams to appear.

One day finally a maiden,

whispered softly, “I am here.”

It shocked him so much

that he stuttered:

"Whh…whhha,,,what, ttoo, ttoo, took…

yuh, yuuh, you…suh, suh so long?"

He forgot to raise his inflection

in asking his question sincere;

so that all she got from his question

was the ending, and abruptly disappeared.

      Aw-w poor dude, indeed! But she 'went' so fast! But, was it good-riddance really? Haha and thanks for a fun one.

      cleaner3: It was great that you got it and said so!

      flashmakeit: Freedom isn't free unless we are free to write even "unusual stuff." Just trying to prove that "variety is the spice of life.

      Amy Becherer: He who hesitates is lost, and sadly for many a stuttering episode is painful hesitation. Thus, "poor dude". ; o )
