Awake Inside

Updated on June 18, 2012
And i can't see where the road ends
The things i know that i don't know
Disturb the fact that i pretend
Gears break and I'm not one to defend
The questions asked without answers to lend
Before i shake another hand
I have a thousand letters to send

Stop the flow
Running with broken toes
And no one knows
Just where to go

Sometimes it seems like my words cant be heard
Some things teach me to speak to myself
The answers are folded and tossed out the window
To be picked up by someone who wont care to understand

Cracking eggs
an emotion omelet
Sweating blood
Crimson vomit
Feathered hair and nipple tassels
The heated engine starts to whistle

(Sirens fill the silent air)

Thick fog hides your face
Icicles dangle from the clouds
Sidewalks fall out of place
Can you hear the sirens screaming now?

Your heart is tossed in a money basket
Like a body in a casket
you cant cover with a blanket
What you haven't discovered yet

Say the word
Stop the voices from being heard
Your the one who feeds the homeless
Feeling ashamed at where your heart is

You just cant keep your feet from sticking
Taking pride in those your tricking
Drop.. Drip.. Drip.. Drop...
Water falling from the clock
Hiding just around the block
With a brick stuffed in a tube sock
And the brick meets bone

Skies turn black
Clouds have a heart attack
The Earth spins in cardiac arrest
I steer clear
Holding my breath

As your consumed,
Swallowed in pride
I decline,
Awake inside

Thank you it means a great deal to me that you can read and interpret this poetry in your own vision. Thats greatest part about art of all kinds. I love to hear what people think because i learn things about my own works that i don't always recognize at first.

The expressionism in your writing is truly genius. Great write explaining having to tie up loose ends, having to contact others you have known before you meet any new ones (perhaps to tie up those too?) and not being able to fix things that cause you pain when you haven't even figured out what they are yet.

Awesome - and voting awesome, interesting and yes, beautiful.
