Azriel - a poem

Updated on May 21, 2014

Azriel,
the angel of death and destruction
the bane of all creation
abounded by your own kind;
the damaged one of them all
with scabbed, plucked wings,
an impersonal face in the crowd
the nameless song in thrown away diary
an intangible smell from the memory
an immortal blind creature
with no thoughts and feelings
and no sense for wonder,
help yourself…
I bring you a sacrifice…
I want you to kill my love.

      When I wrote this I had in mind the feeling of love that needs to be killed. But then I really liked the ambiguity of it. :)

      Hmm. He/she who asked for this must really wish the worst, or have good reason to do so. Will the angel grant them their wish? Voted up, shared and pinned.
