I woke up, my vision blurred by last nights distraction. My head felt like it was in a vice slowly being crushed. My joints may have been hinges in what could have been the oldest building in existence. My body felt as though I lent it to a friend- an enemy, the night before. For all I knew, I did. Just before giving up and falling back into the fuzzy world of dreams I caught a glimpse of her face. Gently slumbering beside like always. Her hair, reflecting light, looked beautiful tracing her olive colored face. Her freckles working together to form what, for a moment, I thought of as a 'Dot to Dot' puzzle i would try over and over again until I found the perfect combination. She flinched and i noticed her hand had fallen from the sheets, naked, cold, desperately wanting mine to warm it. I slowly intertwined my fingers with hers, careful not to wake her. I slowly moved my gaze back to her face where my eyes met hers staring back at me with a faint smile. Startled, I jumped back. She giggled. I joined her. We locked gazes for what I think might have been days, weeks, months. Time spent with her is indefinite. our faces grew closer. Just as her face went out of focus, I closed my eyes and braced myself for the electric shock of our lips. . . I woke up, My vision blurred from last nights distraction.

It is between prose and poetry. Emotions captured are invigorating.

I love it! Definitely thought this was a hang-over complain fest at the beginning - but the twist that it was actually very sweet!(And yet subtly like a hang over without the complaint or regret ;))
