"Ballad of a Shapeshifter"

To change one's body, one must change one's mind

Still, the eagle can fly... yet cannot play piano

Gotta work with what ya got

Realize what you are

Realize what you are not

Take the clay

Take the flesh

Work it into shape

Mold it into a key

Unlock the door

The one slammed in your face

Ya know that red one covered in Ivy, just pass the bench on Love street

Eyes judge as you step on in to feel

Piercing knives, cutting deep

Down to the bone

The foundation

The puzzle

In disarray

Waiting to be whole

A new sight

A new picture

Anew

Walking in the sun, molting your skin

Leaving scales behind, we find

The shapeshifter

Shape Shifters; I believe there is a Native American influence in this poem. Great poetry!
