Be A Man About It (Poem)

Updated on September 11, 2014

Be a man about it. Why do you sneak around? Don't know the news is already spread all over town?

Be a man about it. Tell me face to face that you're done with me. Did it even occur to your I'll be happy to be free?

Be a man about it. Stop making your sad excuses. Do you really think you'll hurt me? What the hell am I really losing?

Be a man about it. Take your things and go with her. Why do you waste more time here, causing such a stir?

Be a man about it. Go on, walk out the door. The excuses are all so old. I've heard everyone before.

Be a man about it. For once in your life, tell the truth. You say "your tired, your stressed, your sorry" Guess what babe, I am too.

Be a man about it it. Let go and leave me alone. I'll do just fine without you, I'm sexy, rough and strong. I'm the kind of woman who can make it on her own.

Be a man about it. Just turn around and walk away. You've done all that you can do to me. I've said all I have to say.

Put on those boots and start walkin' girlfriend. Tell him "You better call Tyrone" (by Erika Badu). I admire your strength you've wasted enough time with a loser. It's time to start a new page in the book of Christina. Excellent poem of strength!!!

What honesty expressed! Why is it, the one doing the damage acts as if they can't let go? It seems it's just a front, to continue to hide their real selves from getting too they burn more bridges. I know this was your past, but isn't it, in most cases true, they realize what they had, when it is gone. When the relationship can't be replace? By then the other has wised up:) and wouldn't take them back even if they came crawling on their knees! Good Poem! So glad you have found better:) God Bless YOU, Sister:)

      notquite and keystrokes,

Thanks so much for dropping by my hubs. I am in a happy relationship right now. This poem was a remembrance of times past, experiences that a lesson taught. I am thrilled to see that a man can appreciate the beauty of poetry and the depth of true love and pain. Love is the most essential of all human feelings.

      Godspeed my friends,
