The widows prayer - written 10/31/11

Let me be still
Let the time pass over me
Give me space & let me be
To process the destruction of 'we'

Let me be still
Let life's wave crash over me
Give me time & let me breathe
Until the day when I am free

Let me be still
Ease the thoughts that torment me
Show me that he's wild and free
That he's where he's meant to be

Let me be still
Bring me peace that strengthens me
Fill my heart with hope to see
Who I am supposed to be
Let me be still

Thank you for coming to meet me and for your kind words Brian. I am happy that you enjoyed the poem. It seems that in the 'be still' moments we are bombarded with so many decisions to be made and thoughts to process. Everything seems so urgent. I find urgency to be a bit of a joke right now. It's irony at its best.

Thank you for the compliments Nikki. It took me forever to find the right pic for this one.

I've been in that "Let me be still" moment. I'm sorry you had to go through such a tragedy to bring you to this place, but I'm sure it's not in vein. You write with such beauty and authenticity, even though the subject matter is so fragile, I find strength in your words. Don't stop writing the poetry Moms... InMyPrayers- Brian

I believe in the connection of the Spirit and the essence of a true soul which transcends flesh and spoken word. I guess we all have that moment in our lives where we touch rock bottom one way or another, but God will always find a way to touch someone's heart to comfort or let His love flourish. I had mine when I was down there and that's why I can relate...

What a beautiful gift you have given me Jinny. Knowing you has brought many blessings.

It seems Thank You is not enough to show the gratitude I feel. I believe you can relate to the feeling that the word is not strong enough for the feeling being such a powerful wordsmith.

http://youtu.be/DcWQIsG9Rqw This is a song that always helps me cope when I'm really down and it reminds me that no matter how broken I may be, I am always perfect in His eyes... This is my personal treasure and I wanna share it with you... Natalie Grant's song "The Real Me"

Sweetheart didn't Jesus once said that all ye who are broken may be restored in The Father. Our Almighty God sees beauty in us even if we are broken. And then His hands pick the pieces and put us back more than together, but even better! Of course there could be beauty, even in the broken like us, because we reflect the truth about our innermost essence, our spirit, without cover ups or walls and that is what the Father sees...

      Love, Jinny

      RJSadowski,

What a terrible thing for you to have seen for such a youngster. I can only pray that you were able to have happiness in your life in abundance to offset the nightmares you must have endured. Thank you for choosing to read and comment on this poem. That it spoke to you enough for you to share your story with me is an honor.

I fear the dull a bit. Some knives are so sharp that they cut clean while a dull one can cause more pain and a bigger scar. To cry is a tribute to a young man that you loved and admired.

      Many Blessings.

I visited you today. The trees were peaceful. I love trees. There are many things for a wife to do when a husband dies. I rather be still...

JinnyMarte, my soul sister on a different path. Your comments make me feel like you are here and I have always known you. It is a good feeling. Thank you. This poem led me to Yolanda Adamas. I was happy to have found her.

That you think something that is so broken is beautiful makes me smile. I appreciate the complements. Their positive energy is like boo boo cream, but I have not yet felt strong. I will keep waiting. Thank you for the prayers, we both appreciate it.

Thank you for visiting one of my hubs and choosing to comment. I really appreciate it. I decided long ago that I would be clear. I didn't bring many in, but what they saw from afar was me. So I am happy to see that the writing is also transparent.

Beautiful poem. The pain never goes away completely but with time it gradually gets duller. I lost my brother Gordon on Halloween in 1946. He decided that his life was no longer worth living, so he pointed a gun at his chest and pulled the trigger. I found him dead in the garage when I was seven years old and I can still see the red blood stain on his blue work shirt. He was only 26 years old. I still cry when I think about it.

Moms-Secret what can I tell you right now? That my heart keeps pouring out for you and your beautiful and strong heart. That the love you have lost is not only in the BEST HANDS wild and free, but also that your longing will be rewarded in His time. That you won't be forsaken or forgotten and that He will shine His love upon you and heal you from all your pain that I'm sure gives way a little at a time every day.

Your poem is beautiful and deep nd hits the spiritual nerve. My prayers continue to be fr you and your beautiful girl... And I keep the faith that you will testify to this healing one sweet day...but for now He holds you close to His heart. You're his dear child...

Btw...I love Yolanda Adams! And the pictures are stunning!

Thank you for sharing a piece of your beautiful heart...

Sad and beautiful. As transparent as a teardrop.
