Beautiful Lights

I love writing, especially poetry. I write so that the reader can feel the emotion in the poetry I write.

How beautiful you are/

You light up the heart that sees you/

Your lights guide those who cannot see at night/

Though many may say to stay away/

Still many love to visit anyway/

Enter In

People love to enter you at night/

For they walk outside without fright/

You are welcoming and are accepting/

No matter what people look like you don't judge/

Some are in a hurry and rush out of you/

Some don't even budge/

You fascinate those who walk your grounds/

Even those who own hounds/

From the height of your buildings/

To the green of your gardens/

All are welcome you are never forgotten/

Always Remembered

For some are reminded of the childhood you provided them/

Others are only beginning to explore you/

Visitors are reminded of the first time they saw you/

For some you begin their book of life/

For others you are their final chapter/

Oh beautiful city/

Lights so bright should you not light up it would a pity/

Oh what sounds come from you/

From the roaring of engines/

To sound of people passing by/

Oh beautiful city with lights so bright/

To bring forth your beauty every night.

Beautiful descriptions of the city lights. Great poem. I really enjoyed this one. You picked some really good pictures to go along with this poem. I will look forward to reading more of your works.
