These Beautiful Lies

Updated on March 19, 2017

Some things always seemed so sweet,
They could masquerade until defeat,
The bitter words took care to hide,
Behind a facade of beautiful lies.

And when I try to sort them out,
I'm met with opposition and doubt,
To controversy they're so inclined,
This facade of beautiful lies.

They run in circles inside my head,
Snarl, laugh and fill me with dread,
From a deep, dark place will rise,
This facade of beautiful lies.

I've built a wall to keep them away
Yet somehow they invade each day
I hold out hope that everything dies
Even this facade of beautiful lies.
