Charming Mix of Subjects in Short Stories

The collection of short stories from beloved author Margaret Wise Brown has been released for parents to share with their children. There is a generation of parents who loved Margaret Wise Brown during their own childhood years, and this charming collection is perfect to add to a family library along with other beloved books from Brown. These short stories are perfect bedtime stories because of the short length. Young children will also enjoy these stories during the day for a quiet break from activities.

The seasonal stories are perfect to begin reading now that we have entered the fall season. "A Song for All Seasons" introduces pumpkins and corn with the colors of autumn evident in the charming illustrations. The other three seasons are also illustrated in this short story. "Count to 10 With a Mouse" is the perfect choice to introduce numbers and counting to young children. This counting story is written is rhymes to introduce the concept of rhymes in language. "Away in My Airplane" is a magical story of a trip through the sky to see the sun and rain.

"Sleep Tight, Sleepy Bears" will delight young children with a story about a big and little sleepy bear who fall asleep together. The text of this short story is written creatively with large print for the big bear and small print for the little bear.

One of my favorites in this collection is Brown's All The Families". Bunnies, elephants, and dogs tell of their activities with their families.

Minute Stories is a complete collection of eight short stories. The brightly colored illustrations are large and fill each page with engaging characters for each story. The collection was published by Silver Dolphin Books, an imprint of Printers Row Publishing Group. It is recommended for ages 3-5 and has an ISBN of 978-1-68412-849-5.

Bring Minute Stories Into Your Early Childhood Classroom

Minute Stories will make a great collection to add to your early childhood classroom. The short stories are perfect for reading in a group story time session or cuddling with one or two children in a reading center for individual reading time. There are several stories that are perfect for reading just before nap periods in an early childhoo classroom. Children will enjoy a short story depicting sleep time and will make the transition to nap periods easy. What early childhood teacher doesn't need an easy transition to the nap period each day?

One of my favorites from this collection is "A Song For All Seasons". This selection is perfect for introducing each season to young children. "The Tickly Spider" is another favorite with its colorful illustrations and an exploration of a grassy area along with a little spider. Young children are taught a lesson of being kind to small creatures in this charming story.

"Count to 10 With a Mouse" introduces young children to numbers and counting. This short story in the collection is written in rhymes for language development along with counting skills.

Each story is beautifully illustrated by a talented contributing illustrator. Enjoy the collection.

*Read one of the bedtime selections at nap period each day. Young children will enjoy a story about napping and readily fall asleep after the story.

*Read A Song for All Seasons" in a group story time session. Have a collection of small items for a "show and tell" activity to accompany each season.

*Read "All the Families" in a group story time session to introduce the concept of families. Young children will learn the concept that animals also have families. Engage the children in a discussion of how the animals participate in activities with their families that are similar to the activities that they participate in with their own family.

Early childhood teachers will find this collection to be a favorite in their classroom library.
