Being Together Makes It All Worthwhile

Updated on August 24, 2017

Sharing Thoughts And Ideas

Tossing around words as if they were leaves on a fall day

Talking about the things we plan on doing

No matter if we get to them or not

Relaxing at home

Pulling out chicken to defrost for supper

My wife going online reading one new story after another

While I type away on the laptop

Taking ideas from their infancy

Watching them take shape

One day with lots of love and help

They can develop

Feelings of happiness discussed

As if they were the newest sensation

Highlighting the benefits and the emotional highs

We listen to the echo's across the field

They sound like small bursts of gun shots

Not sure if it is hunting season or someone at shooting practice

The temperature is in the low 80's

No humidity very dry

Our cat Charlotte lying on a chair next to us

Quietly sleeping

The light blue clear sky with faded puffy white clouds

Is the backdrop behind us

Perfectly placed so it looks so real

My wife discussing the pros and cons of diets and carbs.

I explore the world of writing

Often we say the words I love you

In such a low key quiet manner

They have great meaning and long term lasting effects

I pull myself away from my writing

To catch up on the dirty breakfast dishes tossed in the sink

Ever so slowly I try to comprehend my deep thoughts

Of the delicate intricacies of life and living

When I know

My aunt lies in a hospital bed

Recovering from a dislocated shoulder

Suffering from long term affects of dementia and all the problems associated with it

I struggle with my own fragile emotions

Trying to make sense of it all

How can it be right for me to live and enjoy this wonderful day

As my aunt deals with a list of medical issues

That won't go away on there own

My wife pulls out Maine Blueberry and Sweet Cream Ice cream for me and

Creamy Chocolate for her

We add some jimmies on a sugar cone

A teaspoon is 3 grams of carbohydrates

22 carbs for two thirds of a cup to 18 carbs half of a cup for me

My sugar is 4 grams to 1 and a half grams

So you got more ice cream for less grams

Both ice creams taste so good

Life has to have a balance

I am not sure what the right amount should be

At a loss for the right words as I squirm in my chair

Fidgety yet I am cooled off by the beautiful afternoon breeze

Gypsy Rose Lee When life gets complicated simply break it down to it's simplest form. Loving people and living a life of kindness and honesty. Thank you for reading and sharing.

Dora I do everything I can to move forward. Clearing my mind and tying in the past. Feeling the energy and the frustration. Sharing bouts of goodness as they come. Never forgetting the feeling that makes me tingle all over.

Your last line suggests that you found that balance. We can all relate to the continual hustle and bustle, but occasionally, the storm calms.
