5 Most Inspirational Bible quotes (with poll)

Updated on August 23, 2015

Bible quotes are the topic of my article today. I have been reading the Book almost every day since 1991 when I became a practicing Christian. As any Christian usually has his favorite Bible verses, so do I. If I had to mention all of them in the hub, it will be more of a Master paper rather than an article. So, initially, I am going to use several verses. However, I expect to expand the hub as the time goes by and add more quotations. So, let me begin.

1. God’s Love

John 3:16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

It is probably the most famous verse in the New Testament, if not the whole Bible. Almost every Christian could say it by heart and mention which Bible passage it is from. Even some people who are not Christians know the verse. It talks about infinite love of God and His care for the world that He had created. I am so happy that God did not destroy the earth and humans after they sinned in the Garden of Eden, but allowed them to live. He had a plan from the very beginning how to save us. His Son was that plan. I do not know how about you, but I would never, under any circumstances sacrifice my kid so that some other person would be ‘saved’. We should not forget that it was Jesus’ free choice as well. He wanted to get people back into relationship with God and that’s why He came. It does not matter how much you have sinned, He still loves you and wants you to be saved.

2. Faith

Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

Bible talks a lot about faith and its’ importance in life. That is probably the only quality that can please God. Sounds very radical! But it is very true. Why? I want to ask you one simple question, what do you have that you haven’t been given? Nothing! All the talents, physical appearance, health and etc. have been given unto you from birth. You have developed those things, but had not they been given to you, you would not have been able to develop them. The seed of all possible good comes from God. All the merits come from God; all the sins arise from us. However, we were given a free will and a free choice to believe Him. When we do, He likes it. Bible talks a lot about other aspects of faith, but I am not going to expand on these in the hub.

3. Invisible Reality

Romans 4:17 (King James Version) “…As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”

That is another favorite verse of mine that also deals with faith and invisible reality. Eternal God lives in eternal now and He calls things that are not visible to our physical eyes as though they are real. Every so often we rely solely on what we see and only those things that we can see and touch are real for us. Faith in the invisible is absent in most of our lives. However, like it we or not, everything that becomes real in the visible world it first becomes real in the invisible world. The visible world was first built in the thoughts and imagination of God. Then He spoke words and the world that we know came into existence. So, we have to imitate God and call things that are not yet as if they were real. That is what true faith all about.

4. Way to God

John 14: 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. He came to save us and there is no other way to God, except through Him. I know that there are many gods in the world. However, there must be only one true God. Not all ways lead to the same destination. You cannot get to a plane that has to go to California and get to Siberia. If that happened, that would be a mistake. However, there are no such mistakes in the spiritual realm. At least Bible tells us only about a narrow way that leads to eternal life and a wide road that leads to eternal death. You decide where you want to go!

5. Endurance

Philippians 4:13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

Apostle Paul wrote these words having in mind that he could handle both good and bad times. He wrote in his letter to Philippians that there were times when he experienced financial abundance and other periods in his life when he had a lack and that lack was there for some time. He learned how to live during difficult times without complaining but having an attitude of gratitude to God for what He had done in his life. I think we have a lot to learn from Apostle Paul. I think that both good and bad times are trials for us. Good times are a unique period of time when you can learn how to handle money, learn to save up and maybe invest. In bad times you have a lot of time to thank for God’s blessings that he had given you and for the bright future that is yet to come. Most people fail to pass both tests. They waste money in good times and sit complaining in bad times. However, do not forget, you can learn as long as you are alive. So, if you are alive it is not too late for you to learn the lesson.

The End

Enough quotations for the time being! There is quite a lot to chew on and meditate for the rest of the day. I am going to expand on the topic in the nearest future. In fact, I will add additional quotes to the post. I also wanted to say, that I do not hold any grudge or hatred, or something of the kind against other religions and their followers. God has given us a free will and we can choose whatever we want to believe, even if we are wrong in our choices. God bless you all. I recommend you reading Bible for yourselves and finding tremendous spiritual riches there.

Great bible quotes. My favorite is Jeremiah 29:11-13. For I know the plans I have for you... That quote promises me that God is always near and I can always count on Him. He knows every detail of my life and looks within my heart. How can anyone not love a God like that!

Thanks for sharing such great quotes.

hi fibo777. I read with great interest, though the great life quote speak more to me; not the silly ones, but practical spirituality 'speaks' to me. Quotes like Mother Teresa's, "God doesn't give me more than I can handle; I just with He didn't trust me so much."

Yes, teamrn. Mother Teresa was and is a great example. Her words will be quoted again and again.

Very nice topic. I always choose a Bible verse quote each year: 2012 is Luke 1:37. My lifetime quote is Jer 29:11 (I see someone else mentioned this one above). I especially loved the Bible Quote video. The music and quotes were inspirational. Good job!
