"As, Is..." by Eric Wayne Flynn

"As, Is..."

As life imitates art

As art imitates life

Each generation questions the others authenticity

Decade by decade

Demons and angels at every show

Pushing agendas

Ebb and flow

For the tide has turned

Past that point, the one with no return

No reward for our gift of breath

Accept, we no exception to the gift of death

For still my beating heart, I believe we continue

To go down our hill, unto the well

Dried up, tears flowed, they fell

As we rejoice in the act of falling

Wrapped inside ourselves, for outside ourselves we find our calling

The spirit reveals the spirit inside

Trapped in each and every one of us, today our spirits must hide

Obtainment of no sun, no shine

Love cometh now from the camera, for ourselves we pine

Lusting in the mirror

Contemplating whether or not to look ourselves in the eye

Each time I see my self, I look to the sky

Ima say that's where I'm from

A right after Orion's Belt , then a left beyond the sun

A reflection of glory

A unique, pointless story

Caught in our rising action

Once again, we must fall

Unto our denouement

Our sequence of events

As, Is...

      Eric,

Softly contemporary, I like it. I've read it twice now.

"AS IS": perfect! ...two well chosen words for the parade you bring in this poem- I can relate.particularly: "pushing agendas", "unique pointless story." Now on to live today, will I again be "caught in rising action."

Thanks Whonu, there is peace in the decay, though i hope it's not indifference.
