Blank Stares (A Poem)

Updated on November 30, 2015

Blank Stares

Seated by the window,

Hypnotizing affection of green,

Blank stares of your galaxy,

A planet alienated with fear,

A decision to stay or to leave,

Follow the morning, or wait ‘til eve,

Running in a pace of hope,

The stress of an unfitted glass,

Wondering when the waiting shall last,

The scourging of anxiety?

Or the stillness that brings peace so sweet?

Blank stares for the present,

A future in peril if one says, “I can’t.”

What about the past that threatens to last?

Finding one’s way, guided by the Light,

Blind paths, blank stares, let it clear your crystal sight.

Soli Deo Gloria

What a relief when that light breaks through! Without illumination from the Source of Light, we would all stare blanks for most of our lives. Good case for mindfulness!
