Blissfull Moments-Poem

Lookin back at the time I spent with you,

I've a 1000 questions in my mind I wish I had asked you.

And a million things I wish I had told you.

I clearly remember the first time We had been out together.

Your hands warming up mine In that cold chilly weather.

Your breath sending chills down my spine;

The air all around was singing in a new rhythm, a new rhyme.

The way you had held my face in your hands,

And had looked into my eyes.

You had made me feel so alive,

Like the way I had never felt in my entire life.

The care with which you had held me in your arms,

Had set my heart pounding fast.

The emotions I saw on your face,

Were like an ocean so vast.

We were so close, so alone

Except for the blowing breeze.

I wanted to stay in your arms forever,

And wanted the whole wide world to cease.

We were so silent, so quiet

Except for the rustling leaves.

I wanted us to remain so forever

And wanted the time to freeze!

Everything had seemed so beautiful & right.

I could see the moon in broad daylight.

Those few moments we shared were so divine,

I could feel your heart beating with mine.

Those few moments became,

The most unforgettable moments of my life.

In those few moments---

You had given me my paradise.

I was afraid it might turn out to be a a dream

And was trying to keep my fears at bay.

You had sensed my fears and had promised-

That You would never go away...

At that moment I had surrendered my entire life to you.

Without thinking, without realising it was all a lie.

A lie that strangled all the emotions within me to death

A lie that destroyed my whole life.

In a single second the picture

Of my heavenly bliss was shattered.

You were the only thing in my life

That had actually mattered.

You wanted to leave & were ready to move on,

And I could do nothing to stop you.

You would betray me to this extent-

I really had no clue.

You said sorry & asked me to forgive you,

Without having the least idea of how badly i was hurt by you.

Untill the moment you left i hadnt realised,

How deeply I was in love with you.

Long time has passed since then & yet,,

Here I am recollecting every single detail about that day.

My world revolved around you,

It still revolves around your name.

Untill now I just knew I loved you

But at this very moment I am sure--

I am insanely, insatiably in love with you

And can do anything to hear you say you love me too.

      When I wrote this, I was trying to overcome the storm of pain caused by betrayal and heartbreak. I had loved with all that I was and the knowledge that my heart is capable of loving to such an extent helped me make peace with my past. Thankfully my wounds healed with time and am at a much better place. :)

      The depth of emotion that you so beautifully convey in this poem tells a powerful story. It is a shame to love to this depth without feeling love in return.       @Duffsmom- Our situations are so similar.. I'm really sorry you lost your parents and had to face loneliness and heartbreak. I m aware of the degree of pain those events must've caused.

      I wish we could turn back the time and get back all those people in our life who were once with us. But sadly, its not something that can be done.

      I wish and pray that May the Almighty fill the void in your life with an ocean of happiness that would heal all(or atleast most)of your wounds..

      Thanks for making me feel that I'm not alone...

      Oh my dear, your pain breaks my heart. I too had lost my parents and so being alone, I feel head over heels with someone--who ended up leaving me. It was like another death in my life. But you are young as I was, so there is always hope that special people will enter your life. Beautiful poem, I think you expressed your emotions very well. Please do consider yourself a writer!

      Alas! I too have had my heart ripped out and torn apart. It was then microwaved on high for 5 minutes. It was then roasted in an oven on broil. Later it was deep fried in motor oil. Yes ma'am. I've had to eat my own heart too. Great write Cracknutcase! Keep writing from your beautiful heart. God bless.

      Its true its a tale of a beautiful love story gone wrong.. Wanted a happily ever after but instead ended in a disaster..

      @Neil- Memories fill in for the absence of a person Neil. These moments make life worth while and yet they are the same moments that make us cry..

      Its so strange that we all hope for a happy ending and a happily ever after but in reality things dont always turn out that way... All we can do is cherish those wonderful memories and thank those ppl who helped us create them and simply learn to accept the bitter truth and move on..

      I don't know if this is a true "story" or you are empathising with someone who has suffered a severe loss, but it makes me feel that I wish I had a magic wand and that I could turn back time for you to that happy time... and that it would stay like that for you forever.
