Blossoming - A Poem For A Daughter

She is the daisy, grown wild

Blossoming into a rose

I can still see tiny hands and feet

And the way she used to pose

Adorning her tiara, the princess

Swore she was one each day

Morning, noon, and night

In a land far, far away

Standing always before me

A sparkle in her eyes

Dresses scattered everywhere

What a mess, to my surprise!

It was written on her face

Joy and such delight

I could only reach out to hug her

In my arms so nice and tight

Because in my heart I knew

Blossoming into a rose

I am fortunate to have her

Watch her as she grows

Then she would pull me near

Planting kisses upon my face

Filling the room with laughter

A sound that can’t be erased

As with the hands of time

Quick, and ever-changing

This little daisy of mine

One of a kind and amazing
