Book Pricing and Self-publishing
Writers Write to be heard
Write and Self-publish your stories
Most writers think they can be perfect writers; however, perfection is not always achieved in writing.
I learned and researched about Self-publishing and have earned my way to a substantial amount of cash.
When I found Hubpages I slowed down on self-publishing more eBooks or kindles.
I focused on writing daily here to have that continuous income. My time spent on Hubpages has given me just what I needed from my writing.
1. My self-worth and many lessons have come my way.
2. A steady platform for my work, a good community that had noticed my writing.
3. I had improved my writing skills in producing hubs daily. I have earned fairly well on this site.
I have a stable income and have reached that goal with my personal experiences.
I comment on as many hubs as I can and when possible.
I had an idea of self-publishing my new book and which is currently on kindle.
I have sold many copies on kindle and now feel the need to republish in book form.
I am going on a slow process. I prefer this book to be perfect published in color with photos and with a nice glossy cover.
During this procedure the pricing of the book took me by surprise.
· What does the Expanded Distribution has to offer me?
I have an opportunity to gain a larger audience to more online stores, and many other bookstores. It includes other outlets such as libraries and learning institutions.
All of which are within the United States of America.
A few years ago when I self-published my first book I did not succeed and had to delete it.
My poor experience in having my book self published had let me down.
The lack of knowledge did not get my book on that bookshelf as I would have wanted to.
I tried again and had succeeded but did not select the Expanded Distribution.
I did not introduce my book to the many channels as explained.
This time around I have a better chance and can afford to take my book to all levels.
I now know that the book pricing should be carefully thought of. It depends on the genre of the book and in which category.
The book price must be worth the information provided to readers.
Anyone can view my book online. It has to be up to the standard of what the reader is going to buy it.
If the book is on the World of herbs and Indian Spices would you pay forty dollars for that book?
What you pay for is what you get.
If you buy cheap books you can fall hard on not getting what you actually wanted from that book. Information provided should be well-researched and in detail.
If you had experimented with herbs and know what you are looking for the price of forty dollars can be worthy to your reader. Especially when speaking from your own experiences.
Competitions with books are still in the light and you need to watch how you price that book.
The market place is not always a guarantee for selling your book. Setting the book price too high can be one of the biggest mistakes for self-publishing.
Consider the retail price and compare your title to other tiles before setting your final book price.
· Is your book of great value to set the price at forty dollars?
· The book must be of great help to cost that much, right!
An attractive book a with great presentation can sell at a high price providing the information is of help to the reader.
Novels or books like fiction books are usually cheaper than non-fiction books.
A Non-fiction book of two hundred pages can be an expensive book in comparison to fiction writing.
· So, is your book worth forty dollars?
Selling electronic versions of your book can sound a better idea though still most people do prefer to read a book.
Some of the cheap work can leave you disappointed.
· The length of the book does carry a reader's attention.
· Overall this is a beginner's hub.
One should consider that free eBook promotions are not all going well there are far too many on the market.
Most readers don't want to be familiar with a cheap book. The good content usually goes for the higher price.
I did not know much about the book pricing. My impatient ideas got hurried me to get my work self-published without hesitating
I learned that many aspects contribute to my decision.
I had to choose the retail price correctly and had to consider the trim size of the book
The actual amount of pages had to correspond with the whole feature of the book.
I had to keep my mind on that competition out there about books and books.
The manufacturing costs had to be noted during this process.
· Who are my audiences?
When setting my final price I had to think about the retail procedure also, of the corporate buyers.
The price of my book is more in the way I approach the situation as in the form of an art.
· For example:
When you take to art you do this with proper thought with a picture in mind of how you would want to display your art.
The same goes for writing an art of you.
I priced my book based on its value. I know the value of my book and it will show people the true meaning in using herbs, and Indian Spices.
It has a good quality and a quantity thoroughly researched, and from my personal experiences.
I did not price my book according to other book prices.
If I had priced my book in the similar range as of the other books, readers would think the information is exactly the same.
Don't make the competitive books a problem to you.
Know what you are giving to your readers don't fool them.
Don't think of only the money when self-publishing. Set your mind on another level like use the opportunity as a hobby.
You will be amazed of you will enjoy going ahead with your project.
Make a note of your ideas and see for yourself the difference it can make in your life.
Writing is ones dream and that can go on forever.
· Have you watched the movie ''Being Flynn,'' based on a true story?
· Robert De Niro acts as the dad and Paul Dano acted out as the son.
Nick Flynn is the son of Jonathan Flynn. Nick works at homeless shelters.
The son has a hope of being a writer and the father had that dream for a long time.
· A wonderful story!
· Writers would understand this movie and know what it is like to dream of being a writer.
You are writing and want your book to be published by a traditional company or to self-publish or else you won't go through all those obstacles.
It is no problem to look for a certain margin of profits.
Your main focus is to know what you will earn annually from your book.
· What would be your profit margin on each book sold?
Your book is based on what your readers find interesting and useful to them.
They are buying your book to find the value that you have presented. Not just the price also in what you have written.
The aim is to make your book available where it is not found.
· Where won't you find your book?
· For example:
You won't find your book non-bookstore retailers, or in non-retail buyers or in the many corporations and associations.
Going through the distribution channels will help me sell my book and have my book available in places where it is not found.
I am trying something new and am really enjoying my new project. Writing has showed me many aspects of my life.
I enjoy learning something new each day and that shows me that stronger individual who I have become over the years.
