Born Wild

Updated on August 5, 2013

Yes .. we run .. because we are free

like the air, the sky ..the sea.

open range .. born wild to be

that is us .. a sight to see

Capture us .. rein us in

with ropes of twine...kept unkind

let us find the open space ..

this is our place

that is why we race

Born wild .. born so free

all we want..

is to... let us be

I would guess. we both have known some wild stallions.. in one way or another .. I have ridden very few horses my self .. but they are beautiful animals in the wild . it just seems that humans best intentions ..are kind of cruel intentions , and this is wrong

Your words express such wild freedom so well. When such beautiful living creatures that are born to run free and cannot, it seems wrong. I have only seen such in my life about once or twice and I was just in awe. However, as Blossom pointed out, they could get harmed or be harmful in such running free.

Your imagery is stunning as well as your poetry, as always dearest Michael. I know this poem may be a metaphor to the free spirit of man. And I do know of a few wild Stallions! : )

      Voted up ++++ and sharing

      Bless you, Faith Reaper

thank you blossom.. wild horses in Australia , I did not know that .. wow

yes I guess when man puts up fences and tries to force them into just certain areas ..then it is a problem.

A lovely breath of fresh air in your poem. It reminds me of our Australian brumbies: its so good to see them running free although I know that they are not good for our bushland environment and they're not much loved by the farmers either, as they break down fences and destroy crops.

thank you Jackie .. the beasts of the wild yet man abuses their right to be free.. .it is sad ..they have more right to the land than we do ..

Very good, we have some of the linage of the horses Columbus brought over near me and it is harder and harder to keep them wild and free. Assuming you were talking about horses, lol. ^
