Bowling Adventure (Limerick)

Updated on August 12, 2012

I Hope No One Saw That!

Have laced up shoes and picked up bowling ball

Focus on pins and take some time to stall

I must knock them all down

Or my teammates will frown

As I let go ball behind me does fall

Bowling Adventure: Confession

I have to admit that this has happened to me before a few times. Talk about an embarrassing moment! "Hey Josh, the pins are the other way!" my friends seem to simultaneously jeer at me. "Oh, thanks for the information, I was slightly confused!"

Nothing can be worse than dropping the bowling ball at a bowling alley. Dropping the ball(pun not intended) always makes a loud noise, and several heads rapidly turn around and "glue" in on you. I guess if you strive for the momentary fame(in whatever way possible), then this is a good situation for you.

Another funny bowling experience of mine was when I bowled the ball down the wrong lane. Note, that this was at much younger age, so don't go judging me now! Or, perhaps the time when I bowled the ball down the gutter. Now that may not seem all that bad, considering it happens to all of us every once in a while(except for that professional in the picture above). But, the reason this was embarrassing was because it went in the gutter as soon as I let go! Even to this day, I have no idea how I pulled that stunt off!

Do you have some interesting bowling experiences to share?

Bowling Adventure: Josh Blanchard Falls

As I was thinking of how to construct this Limerick, I came across something that I just have to share with you all! This discovery made me less concerned with the mistakes I have made while bowling. Professional bowler Josh Blanchard fell into the gutter while participating in the World Championship qualifier in Las Vegas in January of 2012. I am posting the video below!

Josh Blanchard: Bowling Fall

Bowling Adventure: Mhatter's Limerick

As I was watching the video above, I remembered reading a clever bowling limerick by Mhatter99. His limerick is about a bowler who does not let go of the bowling ball. You should visit his limericks if you have a chance. He writes awesome and clever limericks!

Until Next Time!

Ladies and gentleman, cats and dogs, friends and family: I hope you have enjoyed this limerick on bowling adventures! If you have a funny bowling experience, you can share it in the comments! Have a great day friends! Until Next Time!

This was fun limerick. My experience? I took my 4 yrs old son for the first time, and he started using some senior team lane. Ops! Well he was just a toddler. But was fun afterwards. Two weeks later, he would still run after the bowl right into the pins... we've got kicked out!

Funny limerick! And your story is funny, too. I always thought if the pins were located in the gutter, I'd be a really good bowler myself!

josh3418...ahh..there's something sexy about a sweaty team bowling shirt..those fashionable coloured shoes that so many feet have worn..and the sound of balls hitting the wood floors...I love the game, just can't play anymore..except on the Wii..and even then I " gutter "...thanks for the hub..good job as usual....

Sorry bud, already wrote a bowling limerick

Asked friend cause he wanted to know

Why bowling would always hurt so

      So friend watched a few

      And knew what to do

When ball rolls then you should let go

Josh has a sweet story to tell

'bout bowling he likes so swell

      aimed at the pins

      his approach begins

alone cuz behind him ball fell

Hey buddy! Another great one! If you keep telling us about all your errors, you're gonna end up on some shrinks couch talking about your lack of self confidence! Good Job, my friend!

Ha - so funny Josh. I can picture someone dropping the ball behind them. My problem is I end up getting my ball in the lane next to me and get very angry looks from the people in that lane. Luckily it's only happened a couple of times. I love your limericks and am always amazed at the story told in just a few words.

Josh, Janine and Bowling do not go together unless it is the wii, because in real life I am an awful bowler. From the time I was a kid I could find the gutter like nobody else lol!! But seriously, I quite enjoyed your limerick on this and you always seem to find the best videos to support your article. Nice job, have voted and shared too!!

I have tried to love to bowl, as my husband likes too, but I cannot seem to find the right weight ball, and then my thumb always is sore afterwards from trying to grip too heavy of a ball. The thought of wearing someone's else stinky shoes - I don't know, just gets to me. Since we do not bowl that often, we haven't bought the shoes. When my husband was young, he had his own ball, etc. then, but not now. I've thrown balls in other lanes and sometimes did not let go of the ball and almost when down the lane myself. Oops. Ha. Funny hub. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Fun limerick josh. I don't think I've ever dropped the ball behind me, but I've thrown many a gutter ball - although I think the mishaps are what make bowling so much fun.

It seems bowling just ain't my thing

I somehow do not have the swing

To aim the ball right down the lane

Without ending up in some kind of pain

No matter when we go bowling I'm almost always the lowest score..but its fun anyway!

Enjoyed this hub as always! Voted up, funny, and interesting!

I have had the one where the ball got stuck, because my finger would always get super swollen.

I like this limerick nice one bro, and that pro bowling in the video looked like he broke his tail bone, Hehe! Thumbs up and sharing.

Loved this. I started bowling in a senior bowling league a few years ago and though I don't bowl very well, my team always laughs a lot.

In one of my first league games I threw a gutter ball and the ball bounced up out of the gutter at the end of the lane and knocked down a couple of pins. I was "celebrating" a few extra points until my teammates told me the rules stated they couldn't be counted and had to be deducted from my electronic score. I thought I should have gotten bonus points for making a "tough" shot! LOL

Voted this hub up across the board.

You don't always have to drop the ball to feel embarrassed at a bowling alley...I always try to walk up to the lane with ball in hand looking experienced and skilled...letting go of the ball whilst tilting my head as I follow the direction of the ball like some seasoned pro...only for the ball to fall into the gutter at the very last moment...covering my embarrassment I try an expression that says...'what kind of freak occurrence caused that to happen'......good job josh.
