Boys and their toys

Updated on November 1, 2015

I thought hot wheels

were supposed to be fun.

The race track

was a Christmas present

and every piece is here,

except for one.

The one that you know who

did what with across my back,

but I have no a clue where its at.

The extension cord too,

I'm afraid to ask for help.

Its the cord that you know who

did what with, about the welts.

Friends notice at school

but I don't say a word,

kids are cruel, I'm no fool.

I want to play with my track,

maybe not today.

Tomorrow it'll show up though

and that's a fact.

Childhood abuse makes my blood boil! I hope you're able to release the churning bubbling anger that builds from childhood ugly mistreatments as we get older! For me, it took therapy which I recommend for everybody on the planet at some time or another in their life!!

      You're so talented Daunte!

Thanks Fossillady, I've been through alot in my life and I still suffer from depression. I found that writing always helps:)

Writing is so helpful! I probably sound like a lecturing mother (which I am) lol, but I hope your'e aware depression is anger turning inward. Although writing is helpful sometimes we need more and formal therapy is a safe place to unravel the anger inside! Okay, I'm done! Take care my friend!

I am so sorry you had even a flicker of pain cross your beautiful face, Daunte. You are an artist, my friend, and it is evident you channel your pain well.

Thank you for your wonderful comment Amy:) My writings do reflect my life situations, also my understanding of the situations. I like to think that maybe I had to endure, to show anyone experiencing life in this way, that I understand.

I am always so very heartened to encounter someone who has suffered, yet refrains from bitterness, overwhelming rage and lifts themselves up by reaching out to help another. You are an impressive, compassionate man, Daunte. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Hey Daunte!! The image of "cord" is quite unsettling. I could think of it as the umbilical cord (mother). When "materials" cease to entertain, we look back for emotions. Well I might be wrong, but on the whole the imagery was fantastic. I loved it.

What a cowardly action to abuse anyone, let alone a child! I love the way you wrote this piece. Very original... but also very sad. Easy to visiualize what's happening here and I don't like what I see. Let your voice be heard!!! I rate you a thumbs up. You're a great writer.
