Break Time

Morning All

Yet another sunny day here in Alberta with a chilly wind that is blowing in fro the Northwest and judging by the headache I would almost guarantee rain or possibly flurries coming in.

Atmospheric pressure effects many of us, some with aches and pains others with headaches. I have been lucky enough to have them both. Such is life I guess. I have come to learn to live with them. Maybe I should have a job as a weatherman cause there are these days I feel like a human barometer.

Welcome as always and may you find some rest here at the Fireside... stay as long as you like. This will be one of those short hubs just as a catch up on what is happening. May this find you well and getting into the swing of summer.

Taking a Break

I missed a day checking my Facebook account and found 84 emails in my account and started to look at where I spend so much time. with the pending summer months and the call to spend time outdoors after being inside all winter I decided to deactivate my account on facebook and focus on writing, gardening, Fly Fishing, Photography and maybe some travelling this year.

Mainly spending time on some serious writing as I have a few projects on the go and they have been falling behind. Social Media is a great place to promote your work and stay connected but it can also become overwhelming. I love people and learning all about where they are from, hobbies, and ambitions in life. Time to just step back and change directions a little.

This region in Canada where I live has many such places like the one in this picture to stop and allow the heart, soul and spirit to just sit and get recharged and summer months are set aside to spend a little time doing so.

It Calls

I spend a great deal of time fishing in the summer months. Floating the many rivers and spending time in small lakes that have trout and this picture is of the mood of transportation. It is all self contained with many compartments and a rear deck that hold all I need for a day trip or a few days out on the water in some remote locations. The paddles allow me control in faster water. I wear a set of chest waders and flippers and with my legs dangling in the water I can fly fish and manoeuvre into better locations.

The winter months find it suspended in my garage just hanging and waiting. It is this time of year it calls and the call has been getting louder.

Open Roads

No matter where we go there is yet another road to follow. Sometimes we are sure of where it ends. Other times we are not. There are times when we reach an intersection and we are given three new directions to choose from. No matter the direction there is a new adventure to be found.

It may be a new hub, a new novel, another picture or maybe that fish you have always wanted to catch. What ever the call I think it important to listen and follow. You never know where it may lead. Listen close and follow as it may be where you have been called.

I will continue to write here on Hub Pages, a great and wonderful place to share ideas and adventures. For those who have followed me you are awesome and know that you are loved dearly. The series "Wild Freedom" I have started has begun to shape into a new book and I thank you for your support. I will continue to share as we go along.

Rolly, those photos show me why you want to spend more time outdoors - lovely!

PS - I also suffer from atmospheric headaches, what a pain!

      Enjoy your summer!

Hi Jools99... thanks for the comment and the note on understanding the pain... smiles... It is something many suffer with. Some are very debilitated. Glad mine is mild in comparison. Summer is a great time to get out and enjoy.

Voted up and awesome. You got me itching to hit the road. Unfortunately we don't get too many adventures here. However that boat you have would be a wonderful way to get out on the river Daugava here. Alas no boat. So we walk an awful lot and look for some adventures in the nearby woods. Looking forward to reading more about your adventures. Love the pics. Thanks for sharing and hugs from Riga.

HI Gypsy... THanks for the comment. Spring and summer have so much offer... The walks you mentioned sound exciting. The woods have so much to offer. To simply stand among the trees can be one in itself. No matter where yourself may you find peace.

Hi Rolly, your photos make it look wonderful, I walk down by the river or try to get to the ocean at least once a year, but the weather over here is terrible at the moment, so hopefully it will get better before the summers out! lol! hugs from across the pond, nell

I do not blame you for wanting to spend your time outside seeking adventures while the weather is good. Pleanty of time for socialising on FB when you are curled up in front of glowing embers through winter.

And who knows just what stories may be born from your summer wandering.

Hi Rosemay... I smiled when I read your comment about " And who knows just what stories may be born from your summer wandering."

I guess you are right there because since I have started writing a few years back I find it interesting my ears and eyes have been retrained to pay attention....

Rolly, now that you have more time you will turn into a mean sheen writing machine. We all need to take inventory of the way we use our time. Good for you!

The waterfall picture you posted is gorgeous. Enjoy your summer!

Hi Jackie... that would be a great place to build would it not. It is located near a resort area and is on what is called Crown Land. No building sorry... but what an ideal location.

Thanks for the note and the confidence. I will be writing still on HP... that is when I get around to it. I have anther in the que on the series Wild Freedom...
