Broken Beauty

Updated on September 09, 2011

I tell a story about many broken lives

A story that is told from a million different wives

About a woman who has been hurt along her way

Leaving her in a corner praying for a clean break away

How many times must we hear this story?

Holding on to life and a system of respiratory

Watching the outer skin change from black to green

Leaving just a mess of her flesh n' blood to clean

A fine incision made down the center of her heart

Chiseling away into a million different parts

Watching as she kneels to pick it all up

Swallowing the tears that filled her coffee cup

Holding onto all her dreams by a thin string

Hoping and wishing on a little star to bring

A sensation that was once held within her reach

Breaking a contract of love, just a paper now breeched

Off she goes into a lonely atmosphere

Longing for the day to once again hear

The words of a lover that will mend her soul

To be loved like a queen is our ultimate goal

Waiting on the light part of the twenty fourth hour

Asking if the blood within our veins have gone sour

Looking into the glass that reflects our effigy

Fleeing the only true love that made us a refugee

What a great title - what great words - you are 'the' writer of all writers here at the Hub - and anywhere else you choose to take your artful craft - I sincerely hope you had a safe happy and productive summer - we're having a battle here in ontario, canada between summer hanging on and fall coming in .......

lake erie time 6:18pm I wouldn've posted this 'beauty' to Facebook but ironically this is where I first saw it.

The message is clear and I so fear for those women who are tortured souls, hiding in fear for their lives and in many case their children's as well.

I was a victim of abuse and saw my poor mother in these conditions, very sad, she could not escape from this man, this beast, this pig, this diseased animal. I pray that this poem will help women run as far and fast away from these predators. Peace and hugs my friend.

One day, hopefully, women will love themselves enough to choose better partners. Up and awesome.

A broken heart, shred into a million pieces. It will take some work to piece her back together.
