Be Sure of Your Footing

Updated on July 24, 2012

Once walked steps
So firm and strong
But lately my steps
Have wavered
I stumble along
Seeking to avoid
The cracks in my life
Which cause me
To stumble and fall

Broken steps
Broken steps
The stones have
Crumbled and fallen
Before my way
Broken steps
Broken steps
Must be sure of my footing
As I travel the road each day

Once walked a faith
So firm and strong
But at times
My faith has waned
I need refreshed steps
To carry me along
I need the power
Of the Holy Spirit
To keep me from stumbling
Or to fall

Broken steps
Broken steps
The stones have
Crumbled and fallen
Before my way
Broken steps
Broken steps
Must be sure of my footing
As I travel the road each day

Thanks so much for your words. Some poems flow from my pen like this one because they evoke in me deep emotion.
