Broken Trust (poem)

Updated on May 25, 2015

Once upon a heartbeat of mine

I saw you standing there

with the same line running through our eyes

I knew we were united

souls intertwined

because of that I trusted

and so confident was I

giving a heartbeat of mine

As a struggling yet growing plant

many times, you, I did not want

rebuke and shame I welcomed

to truly love you was my ransom

But then one day

I saw you standing there

holding a shard

I refused to despair

I came in closer

and you came near

launched the shard to my heart

In a moment of agony

I came to face one great fear

broken

hurt

betrayed

forgiving you may not be today

such a game you have played

How I despise to walk in such a wicked way

-end-

Soli Deo Gloria

Disappointment, despair, heartbreak. It all came through your lines and your pictures of wilted flowers. Good work!
