Brothers Under the Skin (a Haiku)

Updated on September 23, 2015
Brothers all...
Brothers all...
bright spirits to transcend...
bright spirits to transcend...
In birth, our time as when...
In birth, our time as when...
As each new soul to begin...
As each new soul to begin...

Brothers beneath skin,

Colors not to matter then.

Red, Yellow, Black, White...

What's inside does count,

Differences...to surmount.

Prejudices, blight.

Brothers in the heart,

All in this life are a part.

Our Spiritual might.

Beneath skin lies soul...

Human values to extol.

Makes our lives, all bright.

In this world, all kin,

Your brothers are each a friend.

This to know as right.

Lovely poems; it's what inside in the heart that is important.

Indeed, we are all brothers and sisters. Such a shame we do act as though it's true, to everyone. Lovely lines, lovely sentiment.

      BTW, thanks for following me.

I know and it seems we are fighting the media as if they willingly want to have this to report on and seemingly to be blown out of proportion at times. Thanks for stopping by. whonu

The soul is what's important - not the color of our skin. It's sad to see that racial discord is once again on the rise. Why can't we just leave well enough alone?

I wrote this Haiku to accompany my song lyrics," The Brother of my Brother, is my Friend" and hope that all who read receive its message of compassion. whonu
