Bug Love

He had come a-courting
with but one thing on his mind...
to woo and then to conquer
in the way Nature assigned.
He saw her in the courtyard
and instinctively he knew
she was the only one for him
and it was she, he did pursue.
He must first get attention...
and that is what he did...
chased her across the courtyard
in attention-getting bid.
And then he had to charm her
with his debonair and wit..
plying her with compliments
to slow her down a bit.
And then he must convince her
to yield unto his will...
he knew that he must have her,
Oh yes, he must have his fill.
It was a merry romance chase
that he was wont to win...
and he pursued relentlessly
until his lady bug gave in...
She, then, did her duty
as they coupled in the grass...
and soon she would contribute
to bug populous en masse...
Yes, he had come a-courting
with but one thing on his mind...
and, thus, they procreated
in the way bugs are assigned.

This was written during a visit to my son's while he was at work and I was REALLY bored! I showed these photos to my other two sons and they were not interested in bug porn...! LOL Thanks!

I am laughing now! What an amusing tribute to bugs love! LOL that's just so cool how you caught the poor things... They had no idea they entered the fame of world wide web, and mind you, exposed to the core! =) Oh, my-my, I should have chosen the profession of entomologist LOL very entertaining!

WillStarr, I think, more often than not, the male wins out, if the bug population is any indication...Thanks for the read and thought=provoking comment! Hugs!

CMCastro, I believe they are egg layers but those eggs must be fertilized, yes? I don't know much about bugs other than that I am not terribly fond of them, but this little pair caught my bored attention...thank you.

God intended the evolution of all living creatures including the little creepy crawly things- but I thought that most bugs are egg layers?! Perhaps, until a 'formicidae' can speak we will never really know. Plus what I found out about the insect kingdom is that the "queen" hires the workers, the workers produce the "queen's" offspring and sometimes she kills off the worker after they've "procreated". I am glad we humans know how to "keep a man". LOL

Epi, I am always delighted by your visits to my hubs, this one particularly, for I was curious about your reaction! I am tickled you liked it. The pictures came first, inspiring the poem, which is a reversal of my usual methods...Thank you!
