Bumpy Waters

Updated on November 2, 2016

I Should Of Built A Better Boat

The weathers cooler so I have to wear a heavier coat

It feels bulky and restricts me

I am not happy

I put on dungarees and go outside

My mind wants to go in two different directions

My body knows better

Outside to clean our shed

It's the catch all for all the things in life

That have no place

Some men have a man cave

I don't have the room or the money

So I get the Dream Shed

Projects I start and never finish

Hidden from the world

Waiting for retirement day

Lots of good things too

Yard tools and our bicycles

I know I need a bigger shed

I will take door number two

Reluctantly and slowly I get rid of more of my stuff

My wife doesn't see life the way I do

She is very easy to let things go

For me many things have a future use

I am not sure if I can or will ever have the time

To make it come into being

I think there should be a building in every town or city

Where all men can share their hobbies and dreams

That reveals a deeper side of us

Some woman love to bake

Other people like chilling watching t.v.

I am not on the computer or the phone all hours of the day

I'd rather go out and play

It would make so many wives happy

If they could de clutter their cellars and sheds

The men could start something and let another retired man finish it

All men could bond with a dream

Pass it along or leave it till next week

The progress could be impressive

Everything from an old go cart that needed the motor tuned up

To an antique table that needed to be refinished

The list is endless

I think I'm onto something big

Bigger than I can handle

For all those baseball collectors who love to look at boxes and boxes of cards

For all those who love to tinker

Out of time today

Only a half an hour tomorrow

Anybody remember how to change a flat ?

My bicycle is almost ready for you to take it for a spin

I have an old pinball game that loves to be played

A baseball bat that needs to be swung

Come in and share

Set those fishing rods and tackle box down

A can hear that metal detector beeping

There is a treasure waiting at this moment to be discovered

Roll out the basketball

I am painting those window boxes

Just love that cool record player blasting

Paint ball guns and a target for practice

A bag of golf clubs and a net

Don't get me wrong

I love today's mdern convinces and what we have

I still love my childhood and give me a half an hour to enjoy

A moment of simple pleasures

That no yard stick could ever measure

Gypsy Rose Lee Spending time doing things that trigger good old memories brings back years of fun and good times. I had a good childhood and sometimes in adulthood we get too serious and forget all the pleasure we found in every little thing when we were young. I love who I am today and that is because of all the choices I made in my life along the way. I don't think we should escape our past but roll it into our wonderful future. Thank you for sharing and seeing life unfold right before our eyes. Love today in our own special way.

That is what I often say that there are moments when the simple pleasures are the best.

Shanmarie A man cave in my mind might be good enough. Only time will tell. I love giving things away and making people happy. I don't have the time and someone else can do what I always wanted.Thank you for reading and sharing.

Maybe you need a community man cave. LOL.
