It has been by my own nature
the manner in which I endure the hardships of my path,
nature and circumstance a pair in equilibrium,
neither one in essence without the other.
One cannot face any adversity in life
without first having the ability to overcome it,
and it is how bravely and truthfully we face contention
that determines the scope and breadth of our learning in outcomes.
We are never a victim of life, simply a traveller,
a point of observation, clean or tainted, honest or biased,
and what is placed before us, is as much about our connections with fear and doubt,
and how we construct paths to wanted ends.
Contentions are part of life,
but in themselves can never be negative,
on the contrary, obstacles are gifts wrapped in challenge,
and it is we who either accept and gain or reject and blame.
What we are is purely singular in every detail,
and each one of us has an endless potential to realise,
adversity being the footholds of a rugged mountain climb,
one that changes perspective and at the summit the reward of growth.
In every way, celebrate ones nature, the essence of what we can be,
and never lose focus on the journey, no matter the burden,
because in the end it is these possibilities that draw out the core
of a pure soul, open and aware, and in a state of grace.
