By The Shores Of Honolulu.

Updated on October 16, 2012
Source

I was sat at the table drinking that very first cuppa of the day at 6.00 am this morning and as always with pen and paper in hand!!!

My mind began its journey and I was soon transported into a land of mystique and romance.

Source

The dark shores

of Honolulu

glistened almost menacingly

almost severing

each longing

each hope

each thought!!!

x

By the shores of Honolulu

So many tears were shed.

Was my love gone forever

Oh how my broken heart bled.

Source

The refreshing

salt air

disguised with evil guile

behind

an air so heavy

full of stagnant stench.

A once sunny summer's day

thrown into catapulting evils;

almost in yo yo fashion

hardly able to

dodge each

evil

poisoned

stab

of stark severing slashes ;

striking out with life's oh so cruel blows.

x

By the shores of Honolulu

So many tears were shed.

Was my love gone forever

Oh how my broken heart bled.

x

Source

I sat huddled

against a painful craggy rock;

which threatened

pain

and

gripping

fears!!!!

How my heart

my soul

my very whole being

cried out for just one touch

of that anchor of hope!!!

However slight !!!

However feeble!!!

How my ones steadfast faith

lay shattered

by the

to and fro

between the

ebb and flow

of life!!!

Hiding from the ocean's

powerful

grating

and

cascading

wrath!!!!

x

By the shores of Honolulu

So many tears were shed.

Was my love gone forever

Oh how my broken heart bled.

Source

A shuddering sigh

as my heart skipped a beat

as I miraculously tasted

a nectar laced morsel of faith;

Initially weakly

but slowly and surely

reborn again!!

A light of hope re-kindled

as I pleaded

right up to the heavens

above!!!

A sweet new dawning light

determindly lined my horizons!!!

A light of love

hope

and

faith!!!

I looked on

in sheer

captivating

amazement,

as you walked out of the ocean!!

An ocean's

earlier turbulence

now calm

and oh so

blue.

Flowing towards

in graceful intention;

a sweet timing with each

ebb and

flow!!

You emerged in an almost

apparition-like form!!

So obviously glimmering

with silken seductive charm.

Gently

tenderly

you moved forward

to take my hand;

we walked in unison

along the shore of yesteryear

into a future

so bright

so full of eternal love.

x

By the shores of Honolulu

I found my true love once more.

Two hearts again beating as one

Right here on this magical shore.

That is one evocative title - and one that is hard to beat - lol - especially if you're a Canadian in mid-fall season on the doorstep in another month or so to winter. As always, my dear friend, you captivate and enthrall with your words and the images you supply always enhance the mood - lovely lovely lovely says the epi-man from lake erie time 8:19am and watching the sunrise over the lake - always an indelible image and the divine presence of God.

This is an interesting and dramatic love poem, Eddy. I enjoy poems that create a picture in my mind, and your poem certainly did this! I love your imagination.

Eddy, The ocean's majesty also encompasses its tragedy: the power of its waves to send its visitors down to Davy Jones' locker. As a water lover, I love your imagery here. And, for me, there's the mystical, Celtic, Welsh dimension, wherein reunion occurs, whether with a "stolen child" or a "lost love". Is it real? Has the ocean really returned this person to life? The ambiguity enhances the atmosphere you've created.

      Appreciatively, Stessily

Magical Hawaii!!! The sound of waves whispering towards the shore and kissing the rocks, and the orchestra it makes retreating back is giving me goosebumps while it harmonized with the reading of your poem. Oh, my volume was loud too, it made me feel like I am by the shores. Honolulu, beautiful you!

      Hi Eddy,

This is somewhat mystical. As I was reading this I thought of the attack on Pearl Harbor where so many people lost their lives and many are still buried there under the sea. The apparition like form that emerged from those waters welcoming you...was that like loved ones greeting us in that tunnel of light between this life and the next? That is what I got out of it. You may have had other meaning behind it. No matter what, your words are beautiful as always! Thanks!
