By The Mirror (poem)

Updated on December 6, 2013

Find me by the mirror waiting

One more dance

One more chance

-

One more moment recreating

Yesterdays

Went their ways

-

Still I’m hoping she will find me

Silent now and lost completely

Ever dreaming I’ll be set free

One more dance perhaps then maybe

-

In the mirror now I’m searching

How could he

Let her flee

-

Imagination started working

Shadows fall

After all

-

Still reflecting tears I let by

Questions were asked I would deny

Now I’m alone wondering why

One more chance please life let me try

-

By the mirror mind debating

Feeling low

Should I go

-

Was it just my heart creating

dawning blur

Was it her

If the protagonist in the verse is waiting for the woman to make up her mind, he could be in for a pretty long wait.

Sad, honest and reflective. Thank you.

      All the Best,

      R.Q.

Really quite thought provoking and poignant. Deep and well written.

It's so sad when we let love slip though our fingers. Beautiful song choice, Martin.

Oh, I think I totally misread this - I thought it was a poem about dying. Sorry. It's really very deeply romantic, hope he finds her.

Yes, looking deep within oneself and always pondering what if ...

      Up and more and sharing

Sad, but beautiful. You let emotions rise to the top and linger with a touch of imagination and the taste of salty tears.

A very deep thought but it does speak of a love that burns in memory.

Very well said, Martin. You capture the essence of the past, and what could have been done in another way.
