Can reading become addicting?

Reading can be limitless to some people which in turn can make it addicting. For some people this answer to can reading become addicting? is an automatic No but to others, it is a yes. Reading is a great past time for some and it can be limitless for them if they really enjoy it, but not for others. That is fine because nobody is the same. Some people don’t like reading at all but others do, it just depends on who you are. Some people like reading but they don’t have time to or not as much time as they would like. Some people when they get involved in a book the book is what consumes them, don’t you think? There are many different ways you can read. These ways include, newspapers, online or paper versions, reading interesting things on the internet, reading on an E-reader, IPad or IPhone, the IBook’s or E-books depending on where you are reading it from or you could even just pick up a paperback book or hardcover book and hold it in your hands and read.

The people that like reading will know the answer to the question I am going to ask, “Can reading become addicting”? How much do you read if you are a reader? Most people just read when they have a free moment if that is what they like to do. I know that I read because I like it and it’s a pastime that I can take anywhere, which is great. Sometimes reading can become addicting and other times it won’t be. It really depends on what you are reading don’t you think? If the book is really interesting then you can lose yourself in it. Are you one of those people, who if you pick up a book can’t put it down for any reason? I know that depending on the book that I am reading sometimes I can put it down and other times I can’t. Are you one of those people who start reading a book and if you get uninterested in it you stop reading it?

People can be addicted to reading but if the story they are reading isn’t interesting they stop and go onto something else. I was like that, for a bit, but I would always go back to the book that I started and stopped reading just to finish it, whether I liked it or not. I remember one book I was reading it was by JK Rowling everyone knows who she is, she is the author who wrote the Harry Potter series and who didn’t love the Harry potter series? I know that I did, but the next book from her wasn’t so good or at least I didn’t think so it was called Casual Vacancy.

I am an avid reader, I love It. I usually read a series at a time, I just finished reading the Vampire Academy series which consisted of six books, if you have ever read, twilight or even a more grown up mortal instruments series if you have read any of those books. Right now I am reading the prequel to the mortal instruments series, but I have already read the entire mortal instruments series. But back to the vampire academy series, it was a series of six books, and I read them one after another, I don’t start another paperback or hardcover book while I am reading another paperback or hardcover, but I might start reading an e-book on my iPhone which is then called an i-book. Why would I read an iBook while reading something else? The answer to that, is sometimes I don’t like carrying around the paperback or hardcover books with me everywhere I go so having books on my phone make reading more portable and I can still get my fill of books while on the go.

If you check out my limit vs limit post you will see that since the age of six I have been an avid reader. I just finished the Vampire Academy series, which is a series about vampires and dhampirs to protect the elite which is the mori, the mori are the vampires of sorts, the good ones, though. In books there are always bad guys who the Dhampirs kill to protect the Mori, the Dhampirs are the ones to watch over the Mori and they are called the guardians of the Mori. If you liked the Twilight series this series, is a more grown up version of sorts. So check it out.

Have you ever been so consumed in a book, that you forget to get other things done, like cook dinner? I know that sometimes I am so consumed in reading that I forget to do other things and that is what happened sometimes when I was reading the Vampire Academy series because it was that good to me anyway. I know that there are books that will not be interesting to everyone, but that is for you to figure out. I was addicted to reading the series, in the end, although it wasn’t the best series I have read. I read the R.L Mathewson series on my cell phone a few of the books include Checkmate and playing for keeps, those books were amazing and I couldn’t put my phone down at all. I was too consumed by the book to stop reading. It took me about two and a half months to read a six book series in paperback, I read at least two or three other books via my iPhone in that time frame too.

Believe me, if you are an avid reader you will know how consuming books can be. I also was very consumed by the mortal instruments series, when I got it, I couldn’t put those books down if my life depended on it. They were so good. Reading can become addicting it just depends on who you are and what you like to read. Some people don’t understand when others read books because they think that it isn’t fun or easy to do. But if you are addicted to it, like me and can’t get enough of reading books then you will understand. I always have to have a book in my hand, I have a ton of books that I haven’t read yet but I will get to them. I never used to be a series reader, but now that there are box sets of books, or if it’s a specific author I like to get all the books by the author or the box set and read the entire series at once, that is what I did with the Vampire academy series, and it is what I am doing with the series I am reading now which is, the Internal devices series by Cassandra Clare she wrote the mortal instrument series which is the series after this series actually but as I mentioned I have already read that series.

When I go shopping for books, I buy the entire series before I start reading it. The reason for that is because I don’t want to stop reading the series start something else and then find out that there is another book in a series that I finished six months ago, not that I won’t buy the book and read it if that happens it is just a bit confusing reading it since I have read so many other things in between. So I am going to answer the question can reading become addicting yes I think it can, I am actually living proof that it can, because I am addicted to it I can’t get enough of reading.

Reading can be limitless because you are transferred out of the world you are in, at the time into the world of the book that you are reading, which in turn makes you forget about your troubles and what is going on in your life. That is a good thing in some ways because you can relax and come back to what wasn't working out for you later after you lose yourself in a book for while reading can be addicting but it can also help you clear your head.

Reading can become limitlessly addicting and fun because you can be transported into another dimension for a little while, and forget about everything else that is going on in your life. Isn't that fun, not worrying about what else is happening in your life while reading a book?

It can especially when you are reading a series of books that are really good. I have gone from reading one book out of a series to buying the entire series first and then starting it so that I don't have to wait to read a book :) I have a reading addiction

Reading can be extremely addicting. It's great fun, and if the story is good, I could read for days.

reading can be addictive if the storyline is interesting, reading one after another chapter
