Candlelight-A vampire poem

Updated on February 26, 2013

The blood glistens across the floor

Lit by flickering candle- light

Still you feed hungry for more

As I lose my final sight

The music had played soft and romantic

As you had swept me into your kiss

Heart pounding I was lost in your magic

Swept away by a dreams bliss

Dinner left to grow cold

As our hands did all the talking

Never had I been so brazen or bold

Such passion that left me breathless and shaking

Source

Pleasure peaking under candlelight

You sank your cold fangs into my skin

My pain and pleasure your whimsical delight

All given with a bloody grin

Broken on my polished floor

Your eyes alight with cold fire

From my body you took much more

Dining on my life’s desires

Yet heat stirs through my veins

As a hidden deep hunger ignites

My murderer’s blood I now drain

My dead eyes opening in candlelight

Pain laces through me

Shards of agony that leave me screaming

With no way to escape or be free

From the loving embrace of my undead demon

In the darkness all around

I see his eyes now shine

This vampire who holds me spell bound

My blood covered valentine

Blood stained lips part

As he kisses away my last pain ridden breath

And with the final beat of my mortal heart

I become the living death

How I love that I inspire you, have you thought about publishing some of these writings here on hubpages, I think with a bit of experience you may find a niche of your own

I adore the graveyard of our many guests.... May inspire something of my one there :)

Thanks for such a fun visit

      Hi Nightwag

Been a while since I’ve darkened you door steps of poems and appreciated what I encountered from just a grand (K)Night …

A nip and then I tuck you in your cosy coffin

Temporary reprieve from our very handy dinner

I will protect you from the sun and the light of day

As we night owl’s shall wander seeking other hungry lost souls for dinner

Where we both will serve our most awesome delight

Make way for a graveyard of our many guests

All seeking other souls to serve

A world, my dark kingdom for a candle light!!!

nighthag, what I love about your poems is that even though it takes us on an unknown start; you gradually build a theme where by the middle of the poem it feels like we are living embodiment of the emotion you try to evoke and the destiny ending of the character is something we can visualise. Powerful and beautiful. :)

Those last lines...breathtaking! Great poem. But that last stanza really got me.

      "Blood stained lips part

As he kisses away my last pain ridden breath

And with the final beat of my mortal heart

      I become the living death"

      Sends shivers down my spine...

...well you have always been my favorite horror genre writer/poet - and here is another dark gem - sure to inspire the epi-man to write a dark one of his own ...... and as a favorite to me if you will - could you please check out a young lady at the Hub called B.A. WILLIAMS - she has written a vampire/zombie short story she would like you to read - because naturally I was raving about you and promoting your talents as well - thanks for that - and sending you warm wishes and good energy from lake erie time ontario canada 9:39pm where Halloween for people like you and me is all year around - lol
