Catching Up With Me

Updated on May 31, 2015

The Climb

The path is steep.

The summit is only imagined.

The obstacles obscure the view.

The approach was tiring.

The temptation was to quit.

The views were splendid.

The view from there will be glorious.

The effort will all have been worthwhile.

The imagination will be replaced.

The path back will reflect with pride.

The goal will have been achieved.

The watchword: Forward This Day..

There are summits in life that are worth the climb.

Believing is important. Knowing is the goal.

I believe in me, my potential and my goals.

I love the phrase which says "God don't make no junk!"

But God only made one perfect.

God made me with potential.

The rest is up to me.

The story is told of a distinguished man arriving at the pearly gates fully confident of a warm reception, and he was in fact well received.

It happened that when this tycoon of industry was entering through the gates a humble accountant from his firm was also entering.

Shown to his own mansion the tycoon noticed that the accountant's mansion was even more desirable than his own, and asked his guide to explain the difference.

His guide noted that while the tycoon had achieved his earthly goals of success almost unparalleled, the accountant had never stopped trying to achieve his own lofty goals of honesty, humility, and charity, adding that "You both have the same opportunities here."

"Catching up with me" is simply that story applied to my life.

We each have unique blessings and potentials. What we do with our blessings as we strive to achieve our potential will be the measure of our own lives when they are weighed in the balance.

Looks can be deceiving.

Life's real achievements are not always apparent.

Jodah - When we each come right down to it, "forward" is the watchword and "this day" is the theme. What can we accomplish this day that moves us forward?

Thanks for being a Follower who actually follows when the opportunity is there.

      Blessings on your day, Demas

FlourishAnyway - You are surely a night owl! Your comment was apparently made at or close to midnight.

There were three photos, and I am curious as to which one was the "that photo" which drew your comment?

"Forward this day!" That would make a good theme to put on our mirrors so we remind ourselves a few times each day. How about it?

A superb message for all of us. If we don't try, we can't succeed. When we do succeed, we are so pleased and ready to try all over again. That's what life's all about; making the most of what we have and trying every day to move forward in all ways.

      Lovely!

You nailed it here pal -

"I believe in me, my potential and my goals.

I love the phrase which says "God don't make no junk!"

But God only made one perfect.

      God made me with potential.

This hub sends across a great message :)

I could never have a gate in front of my house, as it will keep the four leggeds out.

Ericdierker - You are right abut keeping this handy to review often, and I just did just that to remind myself that "good intentions without action are meaningless."

annart - To improve on an old adage: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again" If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again until you do." You are right. The more we strive, the more joyous is our success.

aviannovice - I agree, not even a gate at the back to keep them in.
