The Butterfly Beautiful
A lot of Eggs does a Female Monarch lay,
On the underside of a Milkweed leaf.
A tiny Caterpillar inside each Egg is,
Fully armored to cross the five Instars.
It becomes so hungry,
That it devours its own Egg's shell.
Presto, the leaf is also its fodder,
But the Milkweed latex behaves like a foe.
Soon it is a meeting of colors,
And more vibrant colors combine.
The Tentacles longer grow,
With legs that are dappled and slow.
It spins a silk Button,
And hangs upside down like a 'J '.
Molting for the last time,
It becomes a Pupa.
Chrysalis is delicate initially,
But soon is hard for protecting the Butterfly within.
The hue of green from the Predators disguises,
While inside,the Metamorphosis stealthily continues.
A comely Butterfly makes the shell burst forth,
Which is wet and wrinkly but ready to fly.
Having pumped Hemolymph into the wings,
It helps its wings making them grow hard and big.
Using its Proboscis,it sucks nectar from different flowers,
Naming it as one of Nature's migratory Pollinators.
Ergo,a caterpillar converts into an impressive Butterfly,
Crossing all the stages 'by the Grace of God'.
