Caught

Updated on March 17, 2013

Caught yet again in the trap of life
Ensnared in a tangled net
A tangled net I have woven for myself
Slowly I begin to claw my way out
Only to find I am making more knots
I am driven though
Driven to make sense of this chaos
Driven to find some sort of escape from it all
Right now my net may be getting tighter
But I will find a way out
Even if it takes me all my life!

Thank you! I wrote that some 10 to 12 years ago, but it always seems to still apply. I keep looking for a way out or a way back up every time I fall, though it many times it seems easier to just give up.

shanmarie, I, too relate to your piece! Life is, indeed, a tangled web, and I spend alot of time just trying to figure out how I got here and how to make sense of it all! Nice job, here!

Thanks! I usually know how I got myself into certain entanglements. . .its the untangling that can be the problem.

I really liked this and the photo you chose was an excellent accompaniment.

Thank you, FlourishAnyway! That's actually one I probably wrote over a decade ago. It took me awhile to find a photo for that one that was not so dreary as perhaps a spiders web and its meal might be. ;)

Your first work here at HP? I always like to go back and see where it all started...early on your showed promise and your characteristic style of brutal honesty.

Yeah. The first one I published, I think. I wrote that one in high school, though, I think, or early college. But it's always been one of my favorites. Thanks for finding the this old hub ,Bill.
