Caught in the Inbetween

Updated on May 27, 2012

Knowing

'tis not just me who has been caught

caught is a poet's place

where stress gives words grace

grace gives tongue and pen

flight in air too high

not as high as the stars

raked by the mountains peaks

forward and backward appear just the same

and move at you till squished amongst the eagles

while what you stand on and what you breath

force you down

all the while you stand

tween now and then

tween yesterday and tomorrow

so where are you now?

what shall you do?

no sense in looking around

there be always something there

but if you look within

things change if you change

then the world around you spins

illusion falls away

replaced by things far closer to desire

wanting nothing but to grow

in places closer to perfect light

if perchance you want to see

      Nope, not just you.

I think it's brilliant, like all your work. I find it hard to comment on poems, especially the ones I feel so emotional about. So I'll just say it's brilliant ;)
