Celery Makes You Think

Updated on March 12, 2015

Leaving So Many Other Choices Behind

Crisp and all natural

Still dripping wet

The leaves and the thick light green stalk

Passing up that hot warm raspberry filled danish

A handful of salt and vinegar chips

What about two chocolate kisses from the fancy crystal candy dish

They surely won't be missed

The soft chocolate cookies

Right from that expensive metal tin

Why do we make them ?

If they can not be eaten

Loved for all the flavors

That continue to tempt my mind

As I chew another celery stick

Crunching louder than before

As if the sound can take away my frustration

A big tower of ice cream

Rising from the bowl

As the celery leaves go down tickling

The back of my throat

I have to laugh

I made the better choice

Gypsy Rose Lee My wife loves celery with peanut butter. I eat my celery plain in the car for a snack. Thank you for reading and commenting.

I used to love eating crisp celery stalks filled with cream cheese or feta cheese. Here in Riga the celery stalk is not to be found or expensive. We have celery roots to add to soup.
