Change And How We Deal With It

Updated on September 7, 2014

I For One Fight It With Every Last Breath

I know change is a way of life

The way we learn and grow

That doesn't make it any easier

I look at life this way

When we are small change is constantly effectiving our life on a daily basis

We have no control over many of the situations

Parents often remind us they are the boss and what they say goes

Even though we never got a copy of the rule book

They keep on giving us new rules as we get older

With harder and stiffer consequences

Teachers that we have to listen to constantly tell us what we can or can not do

Finally after years of struggle and sometimes endless torchure

We are old enough to be the rule makers and breakers

As we enter the work world we see bosses and other employees also play their own version of the same game

Once again we learn to adapt and after years of trial and error

Finally have a chance to be in charge

To set the rules and make sure they are followed

Now you have earned the right just like your parents did

Others will have to follow your lead

Then out of the blue

You were blind sided

The rules have changed and they are not what you remember

Young adults want to be the leaders

They lack both experience and knowledge

It is not the way life works

We have worked hard to meet the challenge

Why can't the rules stay the way you remember them

It worked out just fine when I was growing up

I had to obey

No questions

A no meant no

No talking your way around it

Now as an adult and the rules change without notice

My life becomes a constant struggle

A few periods in my life things have actually remained the same

Day to day life became easier and more structured

We could expect a days pay for a days work

Over time our pay should increase because we wanted it to change

We had a say

Very few things turn out the way we had planned

For that I leave your one final thought

You do what you feel is right because you want the most of life

As change comes keep an open mind

Even though you were happy with all the plans you have made

You have to embrace change

Seeing life in a whole light

We can open up to a world that owes us nothing

For we make so many changes ever so slightly

That in the end make life the most amazing ever

DDE It becomes easier with time. The initial shock makes things very hard and upsetting. Now as I think about it more and reflect on other great times I am able to see more positive above and beyond.Thank you for reading and always helping with suggestions and great advice.

Coping with change is entirely up to any individual on how they choose to deal with their situation. I know from my experiences. It was difficult and not at all easy now I am free from any obstacles.

Michael-Milec So many actions lead to so many decisions. Working hard to do the right thing each and every time. Unfortunately age attacks our bodies like the water washes away the sand a little at a time. When you realize what you have and what you have lost it can leave you confused and upset. Finding peace in oneself is great comfort learning to direct that feeling from within to without. Seeing and experiencing tremendous loss of people and objects that both have a strange way of disappearing in time.We must keep going forward no matter what the losses are.MsDora During my life I neither had the knowledge or the means to accomplish what I thought was necessary. Learning to survive through family and personal matters makes us a better person in time.Time is a battle I can not win. I am very thankful for the wonderful hubbers who still read my inspiration and struggles of life. Each day is a new turning point in a really fantastic life.I must always find home before I roam. This way I stay grounded and can handle an unforgiving tomorrow. Thank you both for your wonderful comments and suggestions. May each day shine brighter and with such brilliance never seen before. Have a good night sleep.Resting the soul gives us time to think.

Jut going with flow will still lead us somewhere. We have to pick the changes we would fight. Great observation in this piece.

      Hi dream-on.

Well spoken; requiring tough decision making from the world go.

Life experiences makes us master-crafters once we develop strong character and know right from wrong.

      Voted interesting.
