Chasing the Wind

Updated on February 8, 2011

I did it to myself....

I'm mad you see...

seeking those who chase each other...

seeking to be what they are not...

not being their best self at all...

I've no one to blame for frustration...

being around the dead inside...

what is cerebral to me...

is child's play to them...

the child poorly imitated...

the immortal knot head ..

and here I am the guy...

living to fulfill hands

that would do magic anew

yet in this bleach or natural world

it seems I who lie.

I wasn't seeking approval more then I was seeking proficiency and laughing at myself for the lack in face of this gift and my ability to write as well as think in ways they considered unimportant.

lol yeah, It has been a long road in my developing profession of hair dressing. I am both straight and decidedly male. Developing these gifts have/has taken quite some time.

I was making fun of both myself and the people around me who made me feel stupid with their capability while they were totally unaware and oblivious to this world that draws me and causes me to write.

I am back and with vigor. Let us resume our discourse. I now have the ability to do so.

To thine own self be true. Approval seekers focus upon the reception their work receives while writers focus on the concepts which are conveyed. We all wish to be read but not at the expense of what we need to say.

I always thought a stranger was

only, someone I had yet to meet

perhaps a new companion, as I

      journey down such lonely streets

how can I know if I have met

      a friend unless I try

      to offer up some gesture

      as they amble slowly by

JFrost - miss hearing from your pen ...

My friends I refrain from satire

      to say this clear

i compare myself to none else

my gifts I know are here

yet, I an artist threw and threw,

could not be satistied with this form alone

but chose to try my hand

      picking up clippers

      and such the like

and finding myeself in strange company

for i am a stranger there.

      I like the lines:

      what is cerebral to me...

      is child's play to them...

It can be frustrating sometimes when others "get it" faster, but we all have unique talents/gifts.

I know this has been written in a satirical vein.. but I have to admit I am smiling at how cerebral it is to me...

Ha.. even aloud.. without my accent! Well Done!
