Chivs86 Poetry: Get out Of Here.

Updated on April 16, 2012

Chivs86 Poetry:
Get out of here

I'm trying to escape
from this ball of flames.
A full place of people
calling my name.

Although I don't talk,
I still hear them say,
and it seems like it's about me.

Which I can't make out,
but I've had enough;
At that moment
that I can hear them laugh.

I feel their fingers pointing "ha ha ha",
Like I'ma big joke to them at the bar.

Because i'm paranoid,
on my radar,
feeling like I'm an animal endangered.

When even though that I'm not;
I have a had a whole lifetime to deal with this lot.

So is it any wonder that I have got,
so distant from liking anyone,
Feeling like I'm not having any fun,
whilst all of the rest of them,
still carry on.

It might not be that they're doing any wrong,
but I've adapted
from feeling attacked for so long,
practiced to be as cold as stone,
To not make any one of my feelings known.

To hide out behind a shield of a thousand tears,
A cold place where, I'm all alone,
Where if gets too much for my crowded fear,
Than I can get out of here.

Story & Inspiration

Well there isn't one really, story I mean, It was a missed assignment for a writing site I contribute to which the title was already given. My inspiration I would say is my own insecurities and anxieties I face with in everyday society. For the theme I would say that this is something I've magnified and exaggerated a little bit in respect to how I really feel but, It's something that In I realize I'm not alone and maybe on a certain scale relative to everybody. A whole world that in someway or at some point has either felt paranoid or scared.

I would say mine can be a whole range of things depending on my environment. I do agree though I wouldn't say this is the only poem I've wrote like this.

If people are talking about you, it is because you are interesting. I love it when I think people are talking about me. It's like being famous!

Our own fears and insecurities are often the inspiration for our writing.
