Chivs86 Lyrics: Coconuts
A bit different from my usual work, I normally base most of my pieces around subject matter but, as for this piece coconuts, it does have a subject matter, something you'll find out from reading it but, that this title 'Coconuts' has completely nothing to do with this piece at all. It's name I choose after an old ringtone I had on my old Nokia; a tone that I started hearing so much that I started making lyrics to it. My inspiration was a few of the older gentlemen down my local boozer moaning about work, it was also a time I was working random agency shifts and feeling quite fed up. So here you have it 'Coconuts' the 1st of my many lyrics that i'll be hubbing as well as my usual poetry and articles.
And I work all day, work all night,
Till the age of 60, a big waste of time.
Agency phoneing me up at 8, sayin be there by 9,
I say ok, well that’s fine/
As long as that i can get paid on time,
Go out on Friday night for a pint
Like I don't think that by the time that I die,
That I wont have enough for a place in the dust.
A reason to go while i'm making the doe.
To set by a fund for my little ones,
But, the truth is if I don't go for the music,
The writing, the rhyming or equally amusing,
Tomorrow I still might be making boxes
Working all days of the week till my socks stink,
Taking bulls**t from my kind and my bosses.
Way to busy to think count my losses,
Stuck with all of the types who need a wash.
Why I need to get myself a new job(in the office)
Smart with a suit and tie.
Prove myself to my kind and the watching
That I could do that but whats the point,
When I can be anything that I want,
If I aim high enough I can reach for the top/
