The spiritual seeker or disciple is quintessentially interested in Spirit or Consciousness, in Its myriad forms. Is it the gift of Love, or Light … is it a channelling of good or negative energy? Is it the vibrations of the cosmos or Mother nature?

We ask our selves if there is any goodness, strength or happiness coming from the situation, thing, environment. It is essentially a tangible experience and belief comes later. Whether it is pagan or commercial is secondary to us.

That is why we celebrate Christmas, because it reminds us of the Spirit of Christ - indeed the good will of all great Saviours sent by our Creator. We feel the same when the Hindus celebrate Divali (Diwali) or religious festivals of other faiths.

There is an inherent seeking in man and while he may not see or feel it in cooking a Christmas turkey, he may feel it in a good opera about Christ, or in the innocent joy of his kids or in the love he shares with a partner who believes.

Spirit or Consciousness manifests itself in so many forms! One sees it in love and another sees it in altruism and philanthropy, yet another in wine and drink. The Absolute is the Master Alchemist and it is Its Love or Light that manifests in all.

So for instance, I am of the Christian faith and Li-Jen is of the Buddhist faith, but she sees something in me she likes and I see so much in her I like! Some say that Buddha didn't believe in God and we in Christianity say that Christ is the only way. Nevertheless, note that this does not interfere with the relationship of Li-Jen and I. In fact, we are not even thinking of it!

Still, I'm writing a Hub and trying to show that goodwill, kindness, broadmindedness and Love are far more important than semantics. That being an atheist or of whatever faith is not as half as important as the feeling of beauty and purity in the Heart.

Sweet simplicity and humility are all awesome virtues and our beloved Li-Jen Hew reminds me of them. God bless you, Li-jen and all those you Love. Merry Christmas!

A Song For Li-Jen Hew

Li Jen Hew, Li-Jen Hew, Li-Jen Hew!

Cuteness-smile and turquoise blue.

Simplicity, innocence, charm and Light,

Tenderness, fondness -joy-delight.

Li-Jen, Li-Jen, Li-Jen Hew, Jen!

Heart’s beauty, soul’s bird, sweetness- wren.

Duty, beauty and spiritual flames,

Buddha’s loving daughter, with nectar names.

Li-Jen Hew, Li-Jen Hew, Li-Jen, go!

Radiating, glowing; good energy flow.

Blessed by the sun with goodness-glow,

Within, without, above and below.

A diligence child of God’s own Grace,

And childlike purity, shines on her face.

Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 22nd December, 2018.

Love Lifted me

She lifted me across the path of ignorance,

Sent me Her rays from the craters of the sun.

The moon descended and kissed my Heart,

I was filled with an alcove of perennial Bliss.

Not so long ago, I was steeped in the darkness

Of isolation; knew naught but the penury of darkness,

But now my petty ailments have been erased;

I am filled with the Light of supernal Peace.

O Love, you emerged from vivacious streams of beauty,

Timeless, nameless, within and without form.

You came when my Light had all but diminished,

Filling my vessel with an equator of Grace.

My inner sunbeams are now in surplus;

I swim in an ocean of perennial wine.

Manatita. The Lantern Carrier. 22nd December, 2018

*Awakening The Inner Light*

Wise words from the Master

"The birth of the Child was secrecy itself. But His Birthday is as illumining as the Sun, as energising as nectar. Christmas is the birth of Promise, the link between Heaven with Earth...

Christmas reveals to us a limitless ocean of Universal Joy. The waves of the suffering world dare not declare their existence..."

Do you like Christmas?

Do you like Christmas?

      Thanks again, Elijah.

Look for the smile on the child's face, as she plays with her toys; hear the singing of O Holy Night or the stranger who greets you on the street. See the night lights and if you are receptive to the 'feel good factor', then you will surely understand.

I gave a thank you card to some Costa Coffee staff yesterday. Hindus and Muslims plus Christians. They were so happy! Once again, I write about the Spirit of Love. By nature, I rarely question or dissect, as long as it serves to enhance happiness … to make us strong.

You are a good man who has a lot to share. Sometimes we appear to do this in different ways, that's all. I bid you much Peace. Glory be!

I do agree with you, Brother, that all orders have days of celebration. I celebrate each day when it arrives for no celebrated day will return until the next cycle at that same time. I referenced Christmas as I did because all biblical feast days celebrated a past event that usually looked forward to another spiritual event but I haven't seen any order celebrate that time of year except that pagan one although I do consider paganism an order. It is only the fact that the name came through Christianity.

I have studied many orders seeking why they have feast days and what they represent. The Christmas season celebrated the lengthening of the morning hours in the northern areas of the earth, but like I eluded to in different terms, since spirit does all things through us why shouldn't it allow a celebration for the beginning of the end of this dark [individually self-centered way of living this material world is] civilization in preparation for an "alternate bodied" one that I'm supposing is more harmoniously lived.

Thank you for your feedback, Bro, I always appreciate know the cause being the acts and beliefs of others, they allow me better communicate them.

This is another kind tribute, Manatita. I think that as long as love and kindness towards others is present, any religion, spirituality, or philosophy is good.

I am so grateful and proud of you, my dear brother, for this sublime gift to my dear Li-Jen! You have a characteristic of a Higher Man, a man of Love. You have the ability to unlock hidden doors in someone and giving him or her the opportunity to fill with joy and Light! I am sure that Sri Chinmoy is smiling now with your act of Love! Li-Jen deserves this higher offering! ( My Love to you my sweet 'daughter'.)

All family embraces you with Love!

      Thanks Again, Bro.

Good to see you as usual. I have written two Christmas Hubs recently and in both I have made it clear that I'm talking about the Spirit. I seem to write more these days, only to say a lot, that semantics is not my field.

I speak of Spirit, Consciousness, as I have also said in this Hub that the Christ, for me at least, does not represent a man but a very powerful all pervading Spirit.

This divine energy is in goodness, mercy, Love, compassion ... which, quite frankly, we can find at any time. After all, tomorrow is not ours. However, the devotee tends to have a day or days of celebration and I alluded to this in my piece about satsang, of how we feel when we come together as devotees.

I see a day of celebration in so many Paths! Even modern day churches and new faiths have one. The 'Spirit' of goodness, is the most important thing … Love.

How far in narrowness can we go? Should we refuse to help the man with a heart attack on Christmas day, because we believe it's a Pagan festival? Whose conscience will we then have to deal with? remember, in everything that I write and say, God is inside us, not separate from us. He/She already knows all.

You seem to have a particular nature and so I leave you in the hands of Mother Universe. I only know the way of the Spiirt … of Love … of the Heart. Frankly, even though I have a Master, I know that the Principle within the man, is greater than the man, the principle. Tthe principle is Love, my brother … Love. How can we see the Light with the curtains closed?

Always good to hear from you. I trust that your Christmas is good. Do not punish yourself in the name of Truth. The Desert Fathers and the old Christian monks flogged themselves, went naked and used chastity belts. We don't do this in the 21st century. No more austerities but lots of sacrifice … self-giving. I still thank you for your contribution though. Appreciated. Hope your festive season is awesome! Happy Christmas!

Manatita, I found "A Song For Li-Jen Hew" to be a magnificent tribute to someone able to restore you, or someone, to their balance. I would say it is a magnificent tribute to her.

As for Christmas, in all my Bible studying I've found no feast nor other biblical events associated with the time we celebrate with Christmas. I did see someplace where a "false prophet" introduced something into a prophecy god's prophet had sent a prophet to proclaim and the false prophet was told it would be manifested. So, I see Christmas as a false prophecy since it began with a Catholic Mass on the pagans' holiday of gift giving they called "the Christ Mass" that was later shortened to Christmas.

For it to manifest itself into anything to do with Christ I believe it would have to be the "unmasking of Christ" since one knows the day nor hour of his appearing in his temple (Malachi 3:1). So, if on some Christmas in the future the second Christ from the root of Jesse and David were to be revealed to the world then would Christmas have any relevance to Christ.

Hi Manatita. Thank you for this awesome Christmas gift! Haha. Cool that you brought up this subject of different faiths. If it's acknowledged, that's good. The message you delivered is important. I have never read a poem about me and my name. Thanks for the first time experience although you did other offerings for me too. Thanks Maurice.

I recognise you as a genuine seeker. My book is called My Guru Sri Chinmoy: Life And Teachings. Available on Amazon. It is my Magnum Opus of spiritual living.

I have two more, not yet in print because I do too much … if there is such a thing. One is poetry called Blossoms of The Heart and the other Maxims For Our Children: A Look at The Teachings of Jesus, The Chirst.

My very dear Friend Ioannis Arvanitis (Sean Dragon) has interviewed me in 10 sessions. You will find them easily if you look him up. Finally, I recommend the 40 rules on Love, a piece of prose and also video for my friends. It is the work of Shams

      Tabrizi, available on the net.

Thank you for being first and for your kind and noble sentiment.
