Christmas and its reason

Updated on October 7, 2015

"Christmas and its reason"

Tell me why is there Christmas,
How did it came to be?
Why do people sing of it with so much glee?
Is it because of the presents wrapped in ribbons and shiny paper?
Or is it because of cookies and chocolate wafers?
Gingerbread houses, or even the cold winter snow?
Can it possibly be because of a guy who rings, “Ho! Ho! Ho!?”
Listen close dear child and you shall know,
Christmas is not just about presents nor the cold winter snow.
The old man in the sleigh is not the one who made a way.
For Christmas is more than just fun and play.
Christmas, a season we have all known it to be, is a chapter of a beautiful love story.
A story of love, grace, mercy and forgiveness.
So listen close with your heart and you will be blessed.
For the Son of man was born as a baby to only be in crimson dressed.
So that is why there is Christmas,
Jesus came in such humility to bring peace to humanity.
He walked on earth, lowly and Holy was He.
Jesus loved and triumphed! Jesus reigns!
All for you and me, so we can all be free!
Pardoned, Atoned for and given new life.
That’s Christmas right there.
Christ born, died to rise, rose to give life.
Christmas came to be because of sinners that were lost.
We celebrate it today because of our Savior,
All by His grace, how can we ever boast?
So that’s why there is Christmas,
That’s why there’s a season to celebrate,
The reason for our faith,
The King has come, the Savior was born;
And His return, we gladly wait!
Soli Deo Gloria

To the point explanation " If there was a Christmas, how it looked like?- a question I have asked a day before on my FB status. Your poem is answering such a question precisely and correctly HalleluYAH.
