Christmas in DC

Christmas in Washington, DC.
Christmas in Washington, DC. | Source

Its an early winter in DeCember, that's DC

People have wreaths for necklaces in the Ws and Es

That's Southwest to Southeast where St. Nick visits

He gives the towns and the hoods, so many presents

Reindeer dash through the blocks like a parade

Downtown, skaters are rolling fine on ice glades

We got snow already, ornaments of icicles

My father bought my niece, a brand new bicycle

I promised, I'll teach his grand baby how to ride it

I might turn it into a sleigh, so we can glide it

right down the steps of Constitution Hall

Let's make a snowman in the center of the Mall

Merry Christmas to president, Barack and Michelle Obama

Hanukkah in the White House, street lights are Kwanzaa

I've seen green trees, high as the Monument

I smell pine all through the nation's capitol, Washington

This will always be my hometown, since I was an elf

But, I might find my Mrs. Claus somewhere else

When I get settled, I'll deck my home with boughs of jolly

Send a holiday card to best mayor, Marian Barry

Tis the season to Anthony Williams and Adrian Fenty

They did what they could for the chocolate city

I need a hot mug of some, along with egg nog

Find woods in Northwest and Northeast to chop logs

so, I'll stay warm until 1st of January gets here

I wish everyone from the DMV, a Happy New Year
